For ACDs, I also recommend posting on a local classified website (like gumtree or craigslist) to see if you can find someone to teach you, OR take a class at a local college. (When I was in the US, community colleges offered this all the time and my friend took a sewing class at a college in the UK.)
I've been knitting for 3 years. I'm not as good as I wish I was. I normally knit fast. I'm really bad at counting stitches, I just don't have the attention span to keep it up. My recent projects are Winter gifts for my Mom and 2 sisters. But I haven't been able to knit for the past 3 weeks since the motorcycle wreck and the back of my right fingers got skinned. I know I'm lucky to not have broken anything, but I can't help but feel the itch to knit.
I have a LOT of yarn, most of them I just bought to have yarn... 30 skeins. And I have a bad habit of not using yarn I think is pretty. I want to learn to knit a sweater!
Very nice! I'm still working on my winter hat... *sigh*

And for 'stuff and giggles' A thong:

Okay, story behind the thong: I saw a sign (probably from the summer months) for a homemade bikini contest with 3000$ cash prize at a very popular bar. So, I decided if I can make something in advance for next year.

No, I don't think I can wear a thong in front of a bunch of strangers. I do have a bit more of shame than 'egoism.' I'd rather make some kitschy vintage-inspired swimsuit.

Cuzin-love the leg warmrs. I've been working on a crochet shawl-maybe I'll post pics if it turns out nice.
Been considering learning to knit, since it creates less bulky fabric, but don't think I'd like the fact that you can't remove stitches as easily if you screw up.
