I took several photography classes in high school & college 20+ years ago, and I have a gazillion negatives but no photos (I only did photos for whatever assignment I was working on). Bed, Bath & Beyond has this cool slide/negative converter:

It is a little pricey, but if you get a mailing for the 20% off coupon, it helps. It is very easy to use. I spent most of a weekend scanning negatives. Love it!!
Awesome! I had been using a service, because I had so many. I really liked them; but they recently raised their prices a bit so that sucks. However I managed to get in several hundred negatives converted, so that was cool. Scancafe they're called... despite their prices going up I think I might use them again. I don't live near a Bed Bath and Beyond which SUCKS!!!

I think you can order it online, but you can't use the 20% off coupon and you'll have to pay shipping. The BB&B store closest to me didn't have it, so I considered getting it online. I took a chance & went to one a little further & they had several. I have so many negatives that I would have bought it online if I couldn't get it at the 2nd store.

Some of my older negatives should have been cleaned (dust) before scanning, but I was just to excited I couldn't wait. Plus with all of the photoshop programs I'm looking forward to getting creative with some of them.
Oh I just love photoshop.
Well, I had taken advantage of Scancafe and I got a good portion of my negatives done, so I will probably either finish most of what I really want done with them, and maybe later on get a scanner... but then I NEVER shoot 35mm anymore so I'd probably be better of just getting someone else to do the scanning and that be it. If I ever did 35mm again I'd get them on a disc. Where I currently live (overseas military base) to buy a roll of film and have it developed costs SO much money. The film I'm not sure but the only service that develops it, will cost about 15 dollars for the one-hour service. I think they have send off, but gee why not just shoot digital, you can see it right then and there so if you mess up, you can re-take it. You go home, you have your photos. No driving to have them developed, paying MORE on top of buying the film, waiting, then getting them back. Blaaah.

So the scanner you have, what's the output like? I am assuming you can kind of choose the resolution. Oh I don't think BB&B would even ship to me anyway. I know my scanner scans photos but it's tons crappier it's hardly worth it.
