Our pair of plum trees -- totally covered in fungus and we were going to cut them down last fall, but got too lazy -- has produced the best ever crop of luscious, juicy, sweet plums. So many, in fact, that we are making jelly, syrup, eating like crazy, and giving the rest away. We typically have supper under that tree -- eating the good ones while we're picking fruit off the tree! HA HA!
Oh, man, PG! That is awesome! I wish I lived close enough to be one of the recipients of your bounty! I love plums!

I was baking this weekend. Partically for the upcoming trade show (I always take goodies to nibble on since I get tired of the food out there) and partically for the Vacationa Bible School.
Yeah, but if I bring in goodies, I am still contributing and don't have to worry about ever being asked to be a teacher during it.

So I bake up the two batches of cookies and realize that I probably should have done the WHOLE batch of snickerdoodles instead of the half batch.
Monday I emailed the gal in the office about when I could drop off the cookies. She looked and said that I wasn't down for bringing in treats and she really didn't think she needed any more. They already had most of the healthy treats (watermelon, pretzels) and only needed 25 dozen cookies and had 30 dozen already coming in.

That means I get to have all the cookies (and some pulled out for DH) for my show. Yum!
Yay! It's a miracle! Just when I had given up all hope of the 1956 Chevy Bel-Air, the guy called me this morning and said that the woman who was supposed to buy it could not come up with the money, so the car is MINE! I have to leave work early today to go pay for it. Once my check clears, that baby is MINE!
Today's my b-day, and I learned that my car failed inspection and needs new back tires. My mechanic is the kind of guy that if he can't get a hold of you, he'll call everyone in your family until he gets someone. I was out when he called me, so he called my mother and told her everything.

My mom said that she'll pay for the tires (and for my car, they are NOT cheap) and the inspection for my b-day present! How generous is that?? Smile
Nadleeh Can you ask your mother to adopt me? LOL
Must be nice to have such a generous mother, congrats! And BTW,
Balloons Happybirthday

Don't forget to eat some yummy cake Bday3 for me. Smile

CFS Woohoo I hope you get that car.. Please keep us posted.

My PAG is. Our neighbors got rid of their mean ugly Pitt Bull. ( no offence to pitt bull owners here, but this one was really mean and nasty)
Now I don't have to be afraid to go for a walk. As they never had a proper fence to keep it safe. And it already managed to kill another neighbors cat.
TG we keep Boots inside.
I kind of feel bad for the dog, cause it never learned to be social.
I hate people that raise breeds to be mean! It gives the good ones a bad rap! Soapbox
Scorp, that's fucking awesome news!

Nadleeh, Happy Birthday!
That is so cool!

PICTURES! Big Grin

DH had his Quad annual visit to the dentist today.
I know most people have to go 2 times a year.
He has to go 4 times a year cause he still has his wisdom teeth
in his mouth. Which have been causing him problems of late.
But the good news is that this check up, he came through with flying colors.
His wisdom teeth have been at bay with no pain.
And he is one happy Camper to get a clean oral bill of health today.
(no pun intended) Hooray
Found out yesterday that my super expensive arthritis medication has been approved by pharmacare!Woohoo

This means that if my private insurance ever decides to limit funding for those of us on these medications I will be covered by the government program and won't lose the one medication that has made a difference in my functioning. It is a long process with tons of paperwork and I was unsure if I would qualify but I have and I am stokedHeadbang

I'm just so greatful to my medical team and how much they have done for me, I am truly blessed to have these people in my lifeAngel

Jen (on cloud 9 right now)
Jen and TW, that's good news on both counts.

My PAG: I'm getting a new cell phone! I went and looked at some last night, and I have 3 or 4 I really like (that are in my price range--no Sidekick for me!) I don't know when I'm getting it yet--I'm waiting for my tax refunds--but it's nice to at least know what I want.

Also, my old cell phone already has a new home, when I'm ready to pass it on!

(It's the little things.)

Dogsbreakfast (too many Jens... ), I'm so very happy for you! :hugs: What a fantastic relief.

I bought a camera online a while ago and it finally arrived in the mail. I am so excited! I might not get to use it for a few days as I will be really busy, but it will be my treat when the craziness dies down.
We Finally broke out of our heat & humidity. It is now a very cool 66ยบ Our A/C is getting a much needed REST! And I have all the windows open to let the glorious FRESH air in at last.
Even Boots is having fun laying inside all of the windows SmileHappycat
IT RAINED!!!

Yes, that means it's hot and humid and the streets are slightly flooding, but it's been weeks and weeks, maybe up to 2 months without more than 1/12th of an inch. It was seriously dry.

I'd be pissed that it happened as I was driving home, but I'm just happy I don't have to water the grass tonight, or tomorrow, and hopefully the day after that.
TW, us too! The recent rains have really paid off!

Even more PAG for me: Our tomatoes are growing (heh) like weeds! Hopefully very soon we will be eating our own, organic, chemical free tomatoes! Smile

We have other things coming in, too. Smile I just wish we could expand. I wanna grow blueberries!

Tee hee. I sold my sofabed last night. I've had it four years - it was given to me by camel. Remember him? Anyway, I sold it for $10 and the people who bought it even carried it out which was one hell of a job. LOL. I'm so happy! I had tried to give it away but no one would take it. Too funny that selling it worked better.

I'll actually miss it - great piece of furniture, but the new house is TINY and that thing wouldn't fit. Plus I'm trying to get rid of just about everything so I don't have to move it all...
I am still wonderfully alive. I have solved a big problem at work (still a lot of work to be done, but now I know what to do!). I have been able to take some photos with my new camera. I had beer and pizza for dinner tonight (a very special treat), and the world's best tasting mango for my afternoon snack. So incredibly fresh and tasty.
Ziggy and Cats, great news!

Ziggy, I love mangoes. Atuafos (Mexico) are the best!

My PAG: I have finished writing up the ritual for Saturday's Summer Solstice ritual. I'm expecting there to be around 30 people attending! Smile I'm going to collect food for a local food bank.

About a month ago or so I was looking for my Italian charm bracelet.
I searched everywhere for it, and I could not find it to save my life.
I thought for sure it got pitched my mistake.
But today as I was looking for something else. I came across a watch box that held one of my dressy watches.
I looked inside there and low and behold underneath the watch was my charm bracelet I was all smiles then
And now it is on my wrist to stay. So anyway, I went to JJ Kent
where I buy my charms on line.
And they have gone out of business.
But they had a final blow out sale
and I was able to buy 2 more
charms and a charm tool all
for $5 & FREE S/H to boot.
That was a great bargain. I am sad they went out of business.
Their inventory was sold out.
But I managed to find 2 new charms and say goodbye to them too. I will miss that site. They had a great selection of charms.
But I know there are plenty of other sites that sell Italian charms.
I am just happy Banana-1 I found my bracelet at last!
