Congrats, PG!

noelle - have a great time on your vacation!
I just got not just free use of a VCR/DVD player for 3 years but actually got paid $99.99 to use it.

In 11/06 I bought a VCR/DVD from SONY - they had a deal that if you signed up for one of their credit cards you got $150 credit on the card to use at their online store. I signed up and along with the VCR bought the $15 replacement/service plan because I had to try to use up the $150.

A month ago the VCR part stopped working right. I called the service plan and they are sending me a check for $99.99. HAHAHA! I love it.
Cats, that's awesome!

My PAG: I finally had my first sale in my new online shop last night. It was a pretty big one, too! Smile

CNK, that is AWESOME! rofl, love when things like that happen!

My newest thing is a joined a bowling league i used to bowl on YEARS ago. Having a lot of fun, and last night i actually bowled decently. I hadnt really bowled much over the last 5+ years, but its starting to come back to me. bowled a 185, 200, and 166. 166 would have been a LOT better had i calmed down, and thought about what i was doing wrong. first 4 frames i opened up. DOH! but after my dad came down watched me and said "you are looking up, follow through with your hand through your mark and move one board to the left because the lanes are drying out" i started coming right in to the pocket, strike, strike, strike, ::sigh:: glad i have a good coach, rofl, guess all those trophies he has he really did earn Big Grin
Jen, Congrats on the sale! I'm happy for you that your creative work is showing promise (it may be good, but it's always a joy when someone else is willing to pay for it as hopefully you can become more financially independent).

I have successfully convinced my work to send me to Victoria for a conference in mid-October. Then I deconflicted my schedule a bit so that I can spend an extra couple days there. Wheeee!
Arkved, that's really cool. I'm glad you're enjoying it. My mom bowls every Tuesday in a seniors' league, and she loves it. She's been bowling, off and on, since I was a teenager. Smile

Ziggy, thanks. Things are slow, but are picking up a little, and people give me a LOT of positive feedback. It's bound to happen sooner or later. I'm taking it real slow. My FIVE year plan is to cut back to part time at work. Wink

Very cool about your trip to Victoria. I hope you enjoy it!

I posted to Freecycle looking for comic book sleeves. The one response I got was from a woman who may be interested in purchasing the comics! Big Grin I sent her the prices and descriptions last night! *fingers crossed*

If she bought all of them, it would be a pretty big sale--for one of them, I'm asking $50!

OK OK I Know I have not been on this thread in over 7 months cause I have not had any good news of any kind to share with anyone till today.
So please accept my belated good wishes to all who had good news to share on this thread. Smile

At last I now have a bit of good news to share too.

OK as most of you know by now that I suffer from constant nerve pain from a botched surgery. ( see back dated Health Threads)
But anyway the medication that I take for that called Neurontin or Gabapentin 800MG 1½ pills 3 times a day. WITHOUT Insurance this medication cost us
anywhere from $400-$300 a month depending on which Pharmacy I went to. FYI K-Mart Pharmacy has better deals.
But anyway, after charging up a small fortune on our credit cards to keep me on my meds for the past few months. I realized that maybe if I called, I could get help from the company that makes the medicine.

So I called Pfizer HQ and spoke to a rep. and she sent me out the paperwork to get on there patient asst. plan for those without medical insurance. And to make a long story short. The other day I got a package and it was my medication. Only this was a 90 day supply
This saved our credit card of well over $900 Banana-1
So, if anyone here is on medication, and who has lost their health insurance. My advice to you is to call the company that makes your medication. And see if they too may have a patient asst. health care plan.
I checked out another company that makes another medicine that I am on. That costs us $150 a month. And they too have a plan. So, after I get their paperwork filled out. I will get a FREE 5 month supply
and BOTH Plans are good for a SOILD YEAR. Or until DH gets a JOB with Health insurance which ever comes first!
So that is my GOOD NEWS FOR TODAY! Smile
TW, that is fantastic news! WTG!

Jen M.
WOW TW, that is AWESOME news!!!! I used to be on Neurontin for a back injury i had years ago. Thankfully (luckily?) I've always had insurance to cover my meds, but that is GREAT advice for those that do not have insurance. I had heard about companies helping people out, but never knew of anyone that had successfully requested assistance and was helped. that is just AWESOME that they did that for you!

Joe
CNK-Awesome-I love it when I hear that protection plans actually pay off w/o all of the hassle, BS and run-around.

Arkved-Congrats on the bowling. I miss bowling. We use to go bowling a lot in HS. I was never very good, but we sure had a blast!

Bittercat-That must have felt great to not only do an online sale, but a big one. Good for you!

PG-A prize worth almost $700? You hit the jackpot..how exciting!

TW-I am also on neurontin. Isn't it a life-saver? It really makes a huge difference in my chronic pain. I am glad that they are working w/ you.

(Sorry if I missed anyone.........)
Congrats, TW - that is terrific news!

Bittercat - congrats on the sale! I hope more come. Smile
I woke up too early--5:15am--so I worked on the photos of the jewelry I made over the weekend at the festival. They look FABULOUS, and I can't wait to get the items listed. I also edited 4 new photos to put up for sale.

I'm on a roll!

I dropped off Luke (aka Luciano Pavarotti) kitten at the Humane Society this morning. He gets his 'boys' cut out this afternoon, goes up for adoption tomorrow, and due to the large amount of traffic they get on Saturdays and the fact that they have so few cats and kittens this year... he should be in a new home in about 15 hours from now (they open at 10am, so I'll give him a couple hours). It'll be more quiet with him gone from the house but he has been so energetic lately that he needs to go charm his 'forever' adopters. I still have three fuzzy little pests to keep me well entertained... Smile
Bittercat - congrats on getting so much accomplished. Is your jewelry listed online for me to check out?

Ziggy - that's wonderful news. The fostering work you do is great. Hopefully by this time tomorrow Luke will be in a loving, forever home.

My Friday was great. I worked a ton of overtime this week (which will cost them!) and have lots of chores to do this weekend, but no matter. I made a trek to Whole Foods today and felt adventurous. I bought some fresh eel wrap. It was wonderful. It's chilly and rainy here so I've got candles light and we're having some crab stuff flounder for dinner. I'm soooooooo glad the weekend is here.
I love all the good news here.

Bittercat: Congratulations on the on-line store. What is the URL?
TW: Wow, how wonderful that you figured out how to get your meds without losing your house.
Ziggy: So cool that you are going to Victoria. I am jealous.
Arved: Great job and how wonderful to have such a nice dad.
Horseracer: Candles, rain, and a fancy gourmet dinner..that is the life.

My good news is that I went clothes shopping today and I fit into smaller size pants! Go me. I been sticking to a low-carb eating strategy recommended by my doctor for my diabetes. It is doing wonders. I have even gone off the low-carb bandwagon for a few days in a row and I still fit a smaller size pant.
It was a lovely cool day and I sat on my porch for a couple hours enjoying the breeze.
It is getting cold already and I could not put off firing up the furnace just a little bit this morning - for the first time this season. It fired up like a new unit and only ran about 20 minutes (very good, considering it was 55 inside!). Yeah!
I didn't see the responses from those wanting to see my shop. It's at http://jenniferlynnproductions.artfire.com . (I won't promote any more--I only posted, because people asked!)

Ozarkmoon, this is my favorite time of year. Where I am, though (Maryland,) it's pretty warm out today. I think we're supposed to be in the 70s.

Clap

Thanks to one and all for your well wishes Smile I wish I had more good news but I don't.
Thanks, TW. I enjoy what I do.

My PAG: I'm getting a whole lot done on the house today for D's mom and sister's visit! Smile
