I saw a groundhog in the back yard happily munching away on the grass and weeds. It was a feast because I watched it for five minutes before it headed off for greener pastures. Those things move a lot faster than I thought and I had no idea they could jump. There's a low wall of two feet or so and it easily managed it. Pretty cool.
Awww! That's really cool, Eddy.

We have a neighborhood bunny that's been hanging around the sidewalk outside our fence. He hops off when he sees us coming, but he's casual about it. I think he's trying to figure out how to get into our yard and munch on our goodies. (We welcome wildlife.) They are so fun to watch.

My friend the groundhog was back today, chowing down. If I knew what they ate, I'd put food out for him.
You have your own groundhog! That must be really neat to watch him eat.

"late summer and early fall. Facing its first winter, a young groundhog’s job is to eat. And eat. And eat. In the morning and again in early evening, a young chuck will eat to pack on the fat it needs to survive the winter. The rest of the day, it will bask in the sun and snack on its favorite plants. Some of these might be the vegetables in your garden. Groundhogs are known to love peas, beans, carrots and squash, so it’s no wonder that many gardeners think of groundhogs as pests!"
I am so psyched! The Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau found me a hotel for the No Kidding! convention! It saved me a shitload of work. I'm meeting with the hotel sales rep today. Thank god I asked the original NK! convention planners for advice. I never would have thought to call the convention bureau!
I have thirteen photos hanging up at a coffee shop in Takoma Park, Maryland! It took a while to get it all together, but they are up and available, and the restaurant owner and I are both really happy! I have to re-do my price tags, but that's no big deal.
This is my first exhibit. I also have a friend who wants me to supply photos for his home office (he has clients in,) also for sale, I believe. Woohoo!

I found 4 pairs of summer shoes that match the one pair I got last summer. So comfy, light-weight, little nubbies from toe to heel that wear off rought skin. Man, I am set for the next 3 summers now for home footwear!

There's a nest of baby bunnies in my yard!!!

While reading new posts here, Her Highness was snuggling while draped over my shoulder. Bittercat's little black cat icon showed up and started moving. Ihu was mezmerized! She watched the paws and the eyes move several times and then put her paw out. It was hard not to laugh and disturb her. Thought B would find it amousing (deliberately mis-spelled).

That is so cute, Ozarkmoon!
My PAG: My promotional photos of my step dad were a huge success. I gave my folks some business cards to hand out, should anyone else ned photos done.
Also, all of our plants are really, really happy, especially since D has dug up the yard and put most of them in the ground. The only exception is the potatoes. As most of you know, they need real depth, so they are in a box. They are coming in happily too, though. Just hoping the wet season does not cause them to rot.

After a sweltering heatwave last week and even a bit over the weekend, we got a nice rain and a break in the heat.
Plus we are going on vacation this week. And it doesn't look like rain. Road construction, of course, but beautiful and clear.
(and we are seeing my mom, so it will not be a strained weekend)
We're picking fresh broccoli from the garden now. It's so good! The garden is really doing well, other than the peppers. Not hot enough for them!
Yeah, Cats, our tomatoes are coming in slowly because of the unusual cool/rain, but I think they will take off. Hopefully, your peppers will, too.

My PAG:
After struggling with lining fabric that was not appropriate and not the right size, I finally found and reclaimed some fabric that will be PERFECT for the linnig of my next tote. Even better: It was enough that I could cut the RIGHT SIZE LINING! I did it while I was up in the wee hours this morning, and I'm very happy with it.
My bags take me forever, because they are hand-sewn, so a breakthrough like this is like a ginormous victory for me!

DH & I went to the beach a couple of weeks ago. The hotel has a great pool, and only one brat got on our nerves - he was constantly jumping in while yelling "CANNONBALL!". Well, brat's mom quickly shut him up. Also, poolside bar had awesome strawberry daquaries. DH & I hung out in the pool with our drinks sitting on the edge of the pool. No adults complained since there were about 10 other adults in the pool with their drinks. Yay for great vacations!
Sharon, that sounds amazing!

Someone just came and installed my new BBQ gas line so I am all ready to cook outdoors tonight. Yay!
I have some coworkers who will be visiting tomorrow night for dinner, and they are bringing scotch.
I glued my diningroom chairs back together so they shouldn't be falling apart on the visitors.
I got some unexpected extra pay this week, so I will be able to afford good food for tomorrow. First stop: pita bakery!
My beans are finally showing through the dirt, so I might yet have something to eat before the summer is through. The tomato plant and basil are doing well in the pot, and if I'm lucky I may soon get a few tomatoes!
