Great flowers...Love the flamingos, too!!
EsTea Wrote:Great flowers...Love the flamingos, too!!

Thanks! I live in a trailer, so pink flamingos were an absolute must for the lawn decor. I'd like to collect more and repaint them in a whole rainbow of colors, or maybe different designs, ala Cows on Parade, and then scatter them throughout my flowers.
Where to start...

My job, while not what I want for the long term, is going very well. I feel appreciated.

It's spring and I love the flowers and trees coming into bloom.

I have a job interview next Friday for an administrative assistant at one of the computer departments at the college. Not my dream job, but it never hurts to see what's out there.

At the job I have now I got told that we get a free meal each day, in addition to any "lounge scrounge" finds we make. Might as well take advantage of it.

My finances look like they may stabilize after many months of decline.

Oh, and the birds were singing today.
After a crappy 3 months, things started looking up finally this year. My paperwork FINALLY went through for college, DH's car is still running (unexpectedly) and we had a great trip to Paris. DH had no problems not having a passport, but it's in now for our next trip. We are going to Sweden. Our housing (military) is being closed down and they are moving us to a new one that's TONS better. I just hate the moving process but they'll pack us up. Otherwise things are going as usual.

That is the best! It's a great feeling when the finances start to improve.
Eddy, that's fantastic! I'm so happy that things are looking up for you.
Yes, good news indeed, Eddy!!!

My good news of the day: My KNEELER chair arrived at work! I asked my boss if he would buy me one yesterday and the damned thing arrived TODAY! This is what it looks like and as strange as it is, don't knock it until you've tried it. It magically reduces strain on your back from sitting for long spells (you are forced to sit up straighter) and totally takes the load off your lower back.

I've been in it for an hour, and it's AWESOME!!!

Jo -- I've tried something like that, and it is amazing for the back! Not so good if you have knee problems, though, which I do now. But I remember it as being one of the most comfortable chairs I ever sat in, in an office.
New bed and new sofa (freaking huge sofa!!) are being delivered this weekend. Kitchen reno's are finally going to get done this summer.

Meeting an old friend for drinks tonight.

DH adores me.

We have no kids.

What more could a girl ask?
Yay! I got 2 free tickets to the Astros vs. Marlins game tonight! Club level seats! Yay for my job perks!
I got home from work (on a FARKING SATURDAY!) but I can't biatch too much for several reasons:

Six hours of overtime
Free lunch on the college
Free dinner and two liter soda on the college
Free 1 oz bags of chips left by some club
Free cans of soda also left by the club
Free t-shirt

I'm humming pirate songs because of all the booty I got.
It's finally warm enough here to go outside in a short sleeved shirt!
The flowers are starting to bloom and I spent an hour or two laying in my hammock...just love swinging in the breeze!
I'm feeling decent and my shoulder is finally almost 100% after last years gym dislocation and surgery
Next weekend is my first 10k since 1999!!!
I get woken up every morning by a cuddly Golden Retriever!

Life's pretty darn good!
Those are lovely flowers, WW! They came out just fine with you using the phone. Smile

Great news, Eddy and Dana! Eddy, free food is always good!

We were up at my parents' place this weekend and got to see one of my "good" step brothers and his wife (meaning a couple from that family I actually enjoy being around.) They had their two sons with them, but they are nice kids, despite one (I suspect) having ADHD. We had a very nice visit.

Also, got some awesome photos, which will be going up for sale.

I got my truck/bus driving licence!!! I had a great lazy weekend and laid around and read Tori Spelling's autobiography, napped, ate cookies and hung out at a bookstore with my sister.

What an awesome weekend!

I can totally relate to this Eddy! I also work on a University campus, and since I work in development, there's always some sort of event going on that has food. We get leftovers from lectures, goodies from meetings, catering samples, etc. Last year I even scored some free football tickets!

My faboo news is kind of related. The Dalai Lama is coming to our campus on Sunday to give a lecture. I got tickets a while ago, but didn't know if DH would be able to get off work to come with me. He finally found out that he has the day off. YAY!

New sofa is in da house! I repeat; new sofa is in da house!

I totally want to come take a nap on your sofa. It looks so comfy!

NKB -- ooh, that's lovely!!! Congrats!

My fab moment -- I've got four new tires on the car! (Of course, the bad news is that at least two tires are poorly balanced and I have to take them back.)
