Singer, Songwriter Isaac Hayes Dies at Age 65
Isaac Hayes, pioneering songwriter and Grammy-winner for 'Theme From Shaft,' dies at age 65
The Associated Press

MEMPHIS, Tenn.

Isaac Hayes, the pioneering singer, songwriter and musician whose relentless "Theme From Shaft" won Academy and Grammy awards, has been found dead at home. He was 65.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says a family member found Hayes unresponsive near a treadmill on Sunday. He was pronounced dead about an hour later at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. The cause of death was not immediately known.

In the early 1970s, Hayes laid the groundwork for disco, for what became known as urban-contemporary music and for romantic crooners like Barry White. And he was rapping before there was rap.

His career hit another high in 1997 when he became the voice of Chef, the sensible school cook and devoted ladies man on the animated TV show "South Park."
Well I figure Bernie Mac was one, Isaac is now two, so we're just waiting on 3. Not that I want that to happen!
The two of them just finished a movie with Samuel L. Jackson. I bet he's feeling pretty nervous about now!

On another note, I wonder what Scientologists do at their funerals?
Word is Paul Newman is on his death bed...

Sucks. Oh well... they come in 3's
I thought Scientologists weren't supposed to die.

*snicker*

Oh lord your right, I hope Bill Cosby is still healthy!Question
And of course my sympathies go out to Isaac's family
WE are in shock over this news.
So if I appear to be glib, it is only out of shock.
I loved all of Isaac Hayes work He was a gifted talented man
Rip Chef
I thought about that things come in three saying when I heard that he died. I hope that it's won't be true this time.
On fark someone said that #1 was supposed to be Morgan Freeman, but he got lucky.

*cough* just sayin' ....

Seriously though, crazy weekend for entertainers dying...
Well, I guess he really won't be coming back to South Park now!

As for Paul Newman I can't honestly say I'm a fan of his movies or acting because I haven't seen much, if any, of his work. But based on this:

Uhm... please excuse me while I take a cold shower....

ETA:
He also recently turned over his stake in Newman's Own over to charity. That's just awesome:

Kirby -- OMG! I recommend "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "Cool Hand Luke", just to start out. You can work through the catalog from there.
