I thought this might help my fellow sufferers of perfume allergies. I actually have found some fragrances over the years that don't make me sneeze or give me a sore throat. Of course we are all different and what works for me might not work for you. I also recommend not doing more than 1 or 2 spritzes and walking through it rather than spraying directly on yourself.

Women's Fancy/Expensive:

Chanel No. 5 - A timeless classic. It smells really nice. I feel like a rich old lady when I use it.

"Envy Me" by Gucci. The guy at the duty-free store in Jamaica recommended it, and I'm glad he did. It has a really light, fresh, modern smell. I like to wear it to work on the days when I showered the night before instead of that morning.

Bvlgari by Bulgari - Very elegant and pretty. I like to use this before a nice party.

Women's Cheaper:

Avon "Hollywood Pink" and "Pink Suede".
The only 2 Avon perfumes that don't smell nasty and chemically. Both are very sweet-smelling. The former is more modern-smelling, while the latter smells very 1950s retro to me.

Demeter - anything. My personal favorite is Dulce de Leche, but they have all kinds of wacky scents, mostly ones that smell like food. They have very little staying power, which might explain why they don't make me sneeze.

Love's Baby Soft:
Yes, I still have a bottle of this! Found it at a closeout store. It brings back fond memories of the 1970s and my childhood.

Mens

Herrera by Carolina Herrera
Grey Flannel by Geoffrey Beene
Drakkar Noir (in moderation)

Hope this list is helpful!
For me it is Lady Stetson ( men's Stetson I cannot abide), and Sweet Honesty from Avon.

Any of the fruit or vanilla essences from The Body Shop (not any of the knock-off bath and body places) were always just fine for me. Especially the mango/peach and the vanilla or french vanilla.
Have you looked at the ingredient (err chemicals?) in those as compared with the ones you are allergic too? Perhaps that would help narrow it down.

You have my sympathies, I'm allergic or intolerant of a lot of things but I've only found 1 type of perfume I simply can't wear (some old Gloria Vanderbilt thing) and ALL of the Elizabeth Taylor stuff gives me migraines!

Fortunately, I never had reactions after that so I didn't try to narrow down the offending chemical. I love all sorts of perfume and am constantly changing what I wear so I'm happy....

I used to be good with those, and then for some reason I developed an allergy to their vanilla. I don't know if they changed the ingredients or if I got more sensitive. I do still have their peach and dewberry scents which I still use occasionally.

I've never actually seen a list of ingredients on them. Maybe they are not required to list them?
I have a pretty low tolerance for perfumes too, but I have found that Bulgari Omnia Crystalline is good for me, so maybe they just use better ingredients if the regular Bulgari works for you too.

My other favorite is Amazing Grace by Philosophy (and I love Pure Grace too, very clean scent).

Those are the ones I stick with.

This is really good information. I wish we could all sit down blindfolded and smell these perfumes to see if we all have the same types of allergies or not. I am really curious now.
Me too! I suspect like most things we're probably sensitive to different things, but I wonder if there are a few chemicals that are predominant.

The chemicals (ingredients sounds like the wrong word?) are sometimes listed on the boxes of perfumes, but I don't think they have to get very detailed. I guess since we're no ingesting them it's not regulated.

I did remember there was one perfume that caused my skin to burn but I can't remember what it was, hopefully I don't come across it again!
Oh, I just remembered: I don't seem to be allergic to "L'air du Temps" by Nina Ricci, but I just don't like the smell of it. I have a bottle that was given to me 20 years ago and I just find it too cloying.
On the rare occasion I use perfume, I tend to wear a fragrance from Norway called Laila. DH wears the male version, which is called Geir. They are supposed to be hypoallergenic, and neither of us has any problems with them.
CFScorpio, I absolutely LOVE the PINK SUEDE. I use the PINK SUEDE roll-on deodorant. AVON stopped making that particular deodorant scent though. Thankfully, I stocked up. I guess I will have to turn to eBay when I run out. Sad11
I wear Issey Miyake, L'eau D'issey. I've been wearing it from the first year it came out.
I feel sorry for anyone allergic to perfumes & etc Hug
Fortunatly, I do not fall into this catagory.
But I just wanted to say I love the smell of
1. Charlie &
2. Elizabeth Arden's "5th Avenue"

But I am happy for CFS that she was able to find scents that do not make her sick.
