I'd be interested in the William Sonoma one, but all I have to offer is a $20 Pizza Hut card we got for Christmas. (Plus the $5.00 difference of course.) Not very exciting, I know...

I think I have a Dillard's card, but I have to check the balance. It was a wedding present, but we moved fairly quickly after getting married, and I haven't seen a Dillard's since we moved here...

I might be interested. I am living overseas (military) and a Subway one we have doesn't work. It's $10 and I have a Best Buy for $10. Once I pay shipping it's not really worth it. I'll check with the hubby as they are both his - but he's had them laying around forever.

Daria, Vanessa and Dana, I could use any of those. Dillard's at least is on my side of town. Nordstrom's is an hour away.
Pizza Hut would come in handy for when DH gets a craving. I could probably find a way to use the Subway and Best Buy ones too.
You guys let me know what the balances are and we'll work something out.

Well, I'd be up for trading my Pizza Hut ($20 card + the additional $5 cash) for the William Sonoma if you'd be interested. DH's sister got us the Pizza Hut one not realizing that there isn't one anywhere near us. I was thinking of re-gifting it at some point, but WS would be much more fun.
If not, no biggie. Just let me know.
Great idea for a thread BTW!

Sounds good to me. I never find anything affordable at Williams Sonoma the rare times I go there. I'm more likely to use the Pizza Hut card.
PM me and we'll iron out the details.

I don't know what my best friend was thinking. But she sent me a$25 Gift Card to the "Olive Garden"
First off, I never ever even there BEFORE I started NS. And there is no way I am going to break NS for The Olive Garden.
I am not into Italian foods at restaurants. I can make my own much better, lol
Anyway... Moving on.
Secondly, she knows I have been on NS YET why would she give me a FOOD Gift card???

And yet I have to be nice & thank her for it.
I feel like ramming it down her throat, but, thats not so nice.
So, instead I am offering it up for trade!!
Anyone got any Clothing store Giftcards? Or Book store Gift cards?
ANYTHING but food, to trade with of equal value??? Please PM me and we can work out the details.
If not, I will wind up regifting it.
LOL
Thanks
TW
Edit: No I am not going to say anything to her about it unless she brings it up. I am sure she thinks If I can eat salad at home I can eat sald there.
But I can't. Their salad dressing are loaded with heavy oils and OIL makes me sick to my stomach!
A little fact I am sure she forgot about, but I did tell her once.
She is a very busy lady, being an ER Nurse.
So I don't expect her memory to be perfect when it comes to me.
But GD have some compassion, for a person on a diet!

I guess maybe she thinks I quit the NS by now? Who knows with her.
But, at least I got away with not talking to her in person about it.
I just left a nice VM to her cell thanking her for it Period.
Want I wanted to say was "thanks but no thanks".
But I am trying to be a better person this new year (Jewish)
So, for once, I kept my big yap shut.

The Olive Garden closest to my house is actually really, really good. I just don't have anything to trade.

I HATE The Olive Garden! I can't stand the fact that people think it's "real" Italian food.
I would consider taking it off your hands and regifting it myself, but the only thing I have to trade is a $50 Coldwater Creek gift cert.
12-15-2008, 05:24 PM
Well, I think their food is good. never claimed it to be REAL italian, but then again, MOST restaurants people go to are not authentic. TONS of people go to Chevy's for mexican food, think that is authentic? nope. the food is good at most of these places, but not the "real" thing. If i want the real thing i will ask my friends who are chefs to recommend an authentic place, i know they know where to go, hehe. but for the inexpensive, decent food, Olive Garden isnt too bad. The one that i always hate is when someone says they want to get Mexican, and then say they are going to Taco Bell!!!!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!
12-15-2008, 05:29 PM
Arkved, I agree with the Taco Bell analogy. For some reason a lot of people are really into chain restaurants. I don't know why. Maybe they don't like surprises, so they'd rather have consistently bland, mediocre food.
12-15-2008, 05:33 PM
yeah, i think that is true CFS, they'd rather KNOW what they are getting than take a chance and find a REAL gem of a restaurant and risk running across a crappy one. oh well, their loss, i like the small family owned restaurants, or restaurants owned by chefs. The chains....eh, they get ya by in a pinch or if you are going with a big group, but id rather give my dollar to the small mom and pop place.

ITA. I'm a big fan of mom & pops. Don't get me wrong: I do eat at chains when other people want to go to them, but it's not normally my first choice.

Hey CFS if you still have that $25 Williams Sonoma card? I would be happy to trade you my Olive Garden card for it.
I never heard of Williams Sonoma till I went on line.
I hope their gift cards can be used on line?
Is it possible for you to find that out?
That is if you still have that card? LOL
Please PM me IF you do.

How long does a KFC gift card last? I got a couple of them only I don't go there and I hate to think that the money was wasted.
