I went for a bike ride this afternoon (like I always do on Sundays) and had a scare, but I'm so, so thankful I got through it! I thought that I was going to pass out (with a heart attack, possibly). At one point I was about 10 miles from my home and right near a place called Fiesta
Island (the climate was just nice there). Suddenly I felt out of breath (like the "wind" was knocked out of me), my chest felt a little bit tight, and felt light-headed. I had to stop at an intersection for a while to wait for the light to turn green. While I was waiting I took deep breaths, burped (hopefully no one heard me - well, who cares at a situation like that!), and coughed. I felt fine after that. I was halfway through my bike ride when that happened, but in the second half of the bike ride, I felt great.

I don't know what it was that caused it. I know that just before it happened I was going against a heavy wind. Also, I was feeling tense because of the traffic. I feel really great now.
I'm glad you're okay, that sounds scary!

Hey, I was at Fiesta Island this afternoon. I drove the pups there, but I've ridden my bike once or twice around the area and it does get really windy there and hard to pedal. It's possible you hyperventilated while pushing through the wind, or you held your breath while pushing yourself too hard. I do that sometimes when working out or biking in wind.
Tommy sorry to be late with this post. I am glad your OK.
What happened was a mild case of severe indigestion.
What did you eat the previous night before you went for your bike ride? Whatever it was, it probably did not agree with you. BUT you did not notice it right away. Some foods are harder to digest then others so it take longer to take effect.
BUT when you went for your bike ride the exercise of the ride helped stir up all the feelings you mentioned and you was able to finally burp it out.
If you had not burped, you would still be feeling the discomfort.
In any case, I am glad it all worked out for you.
Try to avoid fatty foods the night before you go for a ride.Smile
