I've actually heard pretty good things about Hawaii Five-O. I'm surprised, frankly but I was going to give a go anyway.

The Defenders looks good as does Outlaw and The Whole Truth. Of course LOLA is on my must see list as is Blue Bloods. I've never heard of Lone Star but it sounds like a good DVR pick.

Nikita - hmmm. I remember the original movie (La Femme Nikita). Fantastic! I wonder what the series will be like. I might give a watch.

HAWAII 5-0 -- A robust reboot that feels can't miss with explosive action, gorgeous scenery and equally hubbarific stars reinventing iconic roles. The sparring bromance between gung ho O'Loughlin and Cann's wrly scene-stealing "Danno" helps brighten the often violent mayhem.

CHASE -- These boots are made for yawning. A sprint to nowhere, this generic catch-the-fugitive procedural has one asset: Kelli Giddish as the feisty macho heroine. Run, Kelli, to find better scripts.

THE EVENT -- This lavish and grippijng high-concept conspiracy thriller is desperate to be the Next Big Thing, but risks being a Bit Whatev if it doesn't pull back on the pilot's chaotic time jumps. Good thing Jason Ritter's hero makes us care what happens next.

LONE STAR -- The fall's best and most original drama taps a gusher of intrigue and twisty romance, with star-is-born James Wolk the most irresistible con man since LOST's Sawyer. Where is this tory going? Can't wait to find out.

MIKE & MOLLY -- While the too-crude pilot often stoops to get belly laughs from big-belly jokes, it's the ginantic heart displayed by its charming stars that will decide if we fall in true love with this larger-than-life couple.

RAISING HOPE -- O, baby, this one's a hoot. The fall's boldest and wackiest new comedy makes up in raucous energy what it lacks in sophistication. Martha Plimpton is ferociously funny while bringing a warm, wise grit to this rollicking white-trash family circus.

DETROIT 1-8-7 -- "Detroit" doesn't reinvent the wheel but promises to be a mighty fine ride. Though we have yet to see the revised pilot, the intrusive TV cameras were always secondary to this smartly cast urban crime drama's gutsy, gritty allure.

NO ORDINARY FAMILY -- THere's plenty to like in this muddled hybrid of family drama, supernatural adventure and slapstick comedy. It's certainly unusual, but has a ways to go to become truly incredible. Or even exciting.

RUNNING WILDE -- Can a romantic comedy work if you're not in love with anyone on screen? Extreme absurdism is the guiding principle of this off-putting curiousity, which delivers more smarm than charm.

THE DEFENDERS -- Don't bet against this house. The stars' cocky swagger brings a light touch to the courtroom theatrics, and a little Vegas pizzazz adds to the escapist appeal.

BETTER WITH YOU -- Sandwiched amid last season's comedy breakouts, this painfullyh contrived but harmless rom-com is a throwback to a less inspired time. Some of the comic talent may be able to keep this from being thrown overboard.

THE WHOLE TRUTH -- The late addition of Maura Tierney to the cast made the premiere unavailable for preview, but we can only hope she improves this superficial and clumsy ping-pong game of generic legal maneuvers. The breathless original pilot felt more like a trailer than an actual show.

UNDERCOVERS -- As sleek and slick as its stars are hot, "Undercovers" is, at first glance, slightly undercooked. The jaunty thrills lack the chill of dangerous unpredictability we would expect in a post-"24" world. It plays things too safe -- though that could change by the next mission.

LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES -- You can take New York out of the equation-andwe still wish the moterhship had been given a more honorable send-off-but the original L&O formula has proven to be incredibly durable. LA, do this franchise proud.

HELLCATS -- Gimmie a P! Gimme a U! What's that spell? More jeer- than cheer-worthy, this energetic but emotionally empty vessel looks like an ABC Family reject.

NIKITA -- Cherhcez-and beware-la femme. The fugitive assassin has lost none of her allure in this riveting and rethinking of a paranoid action classic.

MY GENERATION -- Welcome to "Gen Zzzzzz" -- as in: Wake me up when these stereotypes get over themselves. "Generation's" originality gap squanders its distinctive tone and promising young cast.

OUTSOURCED -- The culture-clash premise drowns in a sewer of offensive caricatures and lame jokes.

SHIT MY DAD SAYS -- Put a bleeping sock in it. The pilot is being reworked, but watching Shatner's shallowly conceived grouch belching trite punch lines makes us nostalgic for the days when Archie Bunker's provocative bellowing shook the TV world.

BODY OF PROOF -- The hero's hands aren't all that go numb as we endure ANOTHER clinical procedural. While Delany looks great, even those legs can't support the notion of a know-it-all so comically confrontational she makes Dr. House look wimpy.

BLUE BLOODS -- A bit square, but there's a lot of meat on the family-dinner plate as police work, big-city politics and multigenerational dynamics combine for an engrossing drama, enhanced by Sellick's star wattage. Our main problem: Why's it buried on Fridays?

OUTLAW -- Guilty by reason of insanity. Every fall there's a tleast one "What were they thinking?" stinker, and despite the charisma Smits brings to any project, this supremely preposterous and preachy legal melodrama wins the booby prize.

SCHOOL PRIDE -- No pilot was available for review, but based on clips, if extra credit can be given to any makeover show for having its heart in the right place, this one goes to the head of the class.

I love these reviews PG Thanks for posting them Hug It gives me a better idea of what I really want to watch. And so far with natural LUCK I picked the good ones.
Detroit 187
L&O LA
No Ordinary Family
And The Whole Truth which that one sounded a bit iffy. But I like law drama shows.
So, those are the ones I plan to watch
Along with some other shows on the cable networks.
"Terriors" looked interesting. I recorded it but have not seen it yet
I will start a thread for it, (if no one else has yet?) IF it is worthy, lol.
