I said no. First of all, if you haven't gotten them pierced by now then why would you want to.

I have to wonder as others have, how you get piercing your ears from not getting a dog.
Ask my husband, LOL
The real point is either/or.. Having ears pierced or having a dog is BOTH work related. (I would have to work at something.)
IN HIS MIND of course... LOL
But, I don't want neither, so, I will stay blissfully LAZY
With only my swimming, to keep me active, lol.
Smile
Hey, you can't say I don't admit to my faults, lol.
Not gonna lie-I'm happy you stuck with your decision! Also, I didn't know you had diabetes, if I had known that early I would have said no way, it will slow down the healing for sure.
Good for you standing up for yourself!

I got(or rather my mom had) my ears pierced at about age 3 at the mall. I got them pierced again at about age 13. I wear earrings about 5 times a year, but I'm glad they are pierced. However, it's a personal decision so if you don't want it done, don't do it.

random tidbit: I've read 2 studies that say it's better to get your ears pierced as a young child or baby. Much like circumcision there's less of a chance of infection and you won't remember the pain. Not that that matters *shrug*
