Having enough (for basic needs,) internal peace, and self-acceptance about sum it up for me.
Of course, having a loving partner and animals to dote on help!

This thread is great, so very interesting.
I define success as reaching my goals which I reset every once in awhile. My goals for the past several years have been:
1) have a job I like
2) own a home
3) get married
In 1 week from now, I will have reached all my goals! So in my opinion I'm successful.
It's whatever makes you happy.. some people are happy with absolutely no money and living the forest.. I want to travel, so having a bit more money would make me happy, but I do agree that money in itself doesn't bring happiness!
