June 16th On TVLand, (of all networks) will be a new show called "HOT IN CLEVELAND".
Which happes to be a great title cause our summers here are always HOT, lol
Not Hot like Vegas but Hot nevertheless, lol.
The humidity always makes it worse too.
But anyway I can't wait for this show cause Betty White & Wendy Mallik is in it. And I loved Wendy in the show "Just Shoot Me" & I am a hugs fan of Betty White!! So I am happy to see them both have a new gig, lol.
I hope it is good. Lord knows this city needs some good publicity after the mass murder made headlines. (oy vey) LOL
But anyway I am looking fwd to this show.
I hope some of you tune in, It looks to be pretty funny, imho
I heard about this show a few weeks ago and am SO annoyed that I do not get that channel! Sounds like it is going to be a good show!
I would like to give this show a go but it's not on (yet) in Canada. Although we get TVLand, the Canadian channel is not yet carrying this show.
For those who watch the premier tonight, please let us know how it was. I'm not really a sitcom lover (since Seinfeld and Friends went off the air - although, towards the end, I really didn't watch Friends) but this one looks good.

I really wish they had not hyped this show up to death. Cause it really fell short of the mark imho.
Don't get me wrong I will watch it as I am a Clevelander and I love Betty White. But for a premier and all the hype, I just wish it had been a bit more funnier. Now to be fair there was some good
lines in it. But, not worth all that hype it got over & over again for the past 3 weeks and more.
So I hope to goodness, it will get better. Considering it was only 30 min. And trying to establish plot, and characters and be funny all in the space of 22 min ( minus commercials) imho they fell way short of the mark in making me laugh.
So, I am not going to judge it on the first show alone.
But, if I feel the same way after 6 shows, then I will be highly dissapointed.
But for now as far as I am concerned.
"Hot In Cleveland" left me rather cold.
I loved it. I don't like the way the women are all portrayed as desperate for a man, but if you think of it as a farce, it works.

eslbee: I am glad you loved it. I do want it to have a strong audiance. And It did have some very cute moments. I guess with all the hype I was expecting it to be hysterical, and it wasn't. So that was my own personal let down.
ITA, I love Betty White, she is a crack up for sure.
I think of all of them I liked Bertinelli the least. I like Jane Leeves from _Frasier_ and of course Betty White. The other one remnds me of Sybil Shepherd's sidekick on her show years ago.
I could also live without all the sluttiness.

I tend to mix up Christine Baranski from The Good Wife
with Wendy Malik from the show "Just Shoot Me" Cause they are sort of similar looking.
But Wendy is playing her familiar role of Diva the way she did with Nina On "Just Shoot Me" Its sad that she got type casted that way. But no one does Diva better then Malik imho of course
Another hilarious episode. Even better than last week. I loved the one in the "Big Lots."
Oh I am so very VERY happy the second eppy was funnier then the first.
And LOL @ "Big & Easy" not "Big Lots" btw. "Big Lots" is a REAL store here in Cleveland, and they could not very well use that name. Not without paying them a small fortune, lol.
Plus "Big Lots" is not like " BJ's" or "Sam's Club" or "Costco" And that is what they were making fun
of with the name "Big & Easy".
We shop at "Sam's" and "BJ's" a lot, so I know all about getting deals on bulk items. "Big Lots" is more like a small "Dollar Store" only items are not a dollar, lol.
LOL @ the big people wearing shorts in Cleveland remark.
And there was lot more humor in this episode.
So I am doing the happy dance
Betty White is a crack up to be sure.
And I am glad I was right that the first show was not as funny
(imho) Just due to the fact that they needed time to set up the plot.
So, I am cool with that.
Just saw an ad for this. They are going to air it in Canada starting on Monday. We'll be a few weeks behind the U.S. - as usual.
NKB, it's a small price to pay for being Canadian. You guys are so lucky!
