Great stuff. Very short. My description above sums it up, so no ES needed.

Wow.
I haven't faced that kind of situation so far, knock on wood.

Some people should not have kids before they have successfully dealt with their issues.
I'd never heard about this before. Pathetic. How are these people supposed to become functioning adults? They are, after all, our FYOOOOTUR! *eye roll*

I once had a baby-boomer colleague who was complaining about the younger generation, more specifically about their sense of entitlement and their lack of independance. I think I shocked that person when I told her that this generation had been raised to become like that by her generation, who kept giving them everything they wanted without establishing limits. She stopped for a moment and I think it sunk in. She never complained again!
I'm going to take a different viewpoint which I'm sure is a surprise to all of you.

Why is it so wrong for the job applicant to get the best advice/counsel that they can? I guarantee the employer isn't about to reveal what they will pay a person because you've all seen "salary negotiable" which is pretty much saying dig your own grave.

I've ranted about employers in the past but my biggest point of contention is how they expect the candidate to name their price when the employer knows damn well what they will pay but if the candidate names a lower price they sure as hell aren't about to tell them that they would have paid 40% more. It's a bullshit game and for once I'm happy to see that the employer is getting some of their crap handed back to them.
The article wasn't about that, Eddy. It was about parents who negotiate/follow up on behalf of their adult children--something the children themselves should be doing.
