My dad and his wife bought me a plane ticket to go to Madrid and Venice with them. Smile
I haven't been to Venice but I've heard wonderful things about it, and I enjoyed my time in Madrid a lot. Both are very historical cities with lots of character... you're so lucky! I hope that you have a great time, and be sure to enjoy as much good food as possible.

Let us know how it goes, as I'm curious to hear more about Venice Smile
Yay! I can't believe I didn't make it to Spain while living here in the UK. We planned to but he had to deploy. Sucks. I did go to Italy twice but never got to Venice. I love European travel so much. I can't wait to hear about the food you eat more than anything ha ha!
CFS, have a great time! Venice is terrific this time of year because it's not summer yet. If you possibly can, take the vaporetto to the outer islands, Murano and Burano. Peaceful, colorful, fun and not as expensive as Venice proper. Also, there's a Guggenheim museum there and a very interesting Jewish quarter. DON'T EAT ON THE SQUARE. Stick to the side streets.
Had a great time! Ate a lot, walked a lot, etc. Surprisingly, I enjoyed Madrid more than Venice.
Glad to hear it was fun!
Sounds like a great trip, I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

So sorry to be late posting here. But better late then Never.
So you had a great time I see. I am so very happy you did. No one deserves it more then you CFS. Considering all the hell you have been through these past few years.
Did you take loads of Pix?
Did you ride in a gondola? I guess you pretty much have to if you was traveled about, lol.
I could never get hubby to do that. He is afraid of any kind of boats, lol. He never learned to swim, poor dear. Smile
