BJ and I differ on this. She eats the whole damn thing, but I will not eat a bite of naked pizza crust. To me, they are dog treats to be cut up, refrigerated and doled out.

Do you eat the crust, throw it away, or what? She thinks everyone eats the damned stuff, but it's hard for me to imagine.
I can't leave a crumb of pizza uneaten. I love the crust, stuffed or not, it's yummy as hell.
I eat the crust only if it is softer. Hard crust is bird fodder to me.
I'm with ozarkmoon - for both pie and pizza. If it's hard or tasteless then I won't bother eating the crust.
LOVE the crust. Especially thick crust. I don't see the point of thin crust pizza. But that's another poll!
We eat the whole thing.
Look into crusts that you will eat such as stuffed crust or thin crust.
Not eating crust?! Whaa?? Heck yeah crust is good, no matter what. If it's a pie (not a pizza pie but a pie pie) then the crust is the BEST part.

ITA. Pizza is one of my favourite foods and I can't leave any of it behind.
I love the crust best of all! I can't see wasting a bit of pizza. I also eat pie crust.
Sometimes I eat it and sometimes I give it to my dogs. See...if I feel like eating three slices instead of just two I feel like I'm allowed to if I leave the crust out. Somehow I think that makes up the difference. I don't know if it does though...

Cassia, I'd rather just eat another piece that tastes good and feed the detritus to the dogs. To me it's empty calories. I don't actually make pizza, I eat it out or bring it home.

On a dessert pie, sometimes BJ eats just the filling and I eat the crust. It's pastry, which is different, and of course it still has something on it. Also, pot pies, I like the ones with the whole crust all around, not just the top. Pizza crust is hard, dry and tasteless. Like celery or cereal.
It all depends on the Pizza. If I get a pizza from somewhere I know is good then I eat it all. If I get some pizza at someone else's house like a social event, or last minute dinner idea. and I have no say as to where the pizza is coming from. Then I wait and see if the crust is decent.
If the crust is hard as a rock, I won't eat it.
But if its soft chewy and tasty of course Its part of the pie.
Again all of this info is coming from a very picky eater....ME! LOL
So, don't use my comments in any decision making basis, lol. Smile

OT: I sort of Voted wrong.. And said Yes its part of the pie.
But I really should have voted other, sorry, lol Smile

That's what that tub of garlic dipping sauce is for!

I should have made more choices, but at least I remembered to include PIE!

Maybe if it came with that, I would eat it. But I've actually never seen any.

PrairieGirl

Order from Papa Johns! -- they provide the garlic butter.

I'll admit, if they sold just pizza crust somewhere (other than the dough, which is very useful for other things!), I would not buy it. Pizza crust is just a delivery system for pizza toppings and tons of melted cheese! That said, if the outer crust is good, and not too hard or dry, I will eat it.
My favorite pizza crust is from Whole Foods. It is an organic corn meal crust by Vicolo.
It is delicious!!
It totally depends on the pizza itself...I am an east coast bum who was spoiled on pizza and Kansas pizza sucks Sad So if it's a great piece with sweet crust, I will eat it.....

If it's hard and bland and cardboard-like.... I will pass. Smile

They cut back so far on their toppings, we dropped them.
No. I agree with the poster who said the dough is merely a delivery system for the toppings.
Oh, yeah, I didn't mean to imply I don't eat the part of the crust that has toppings! Good heavens, no!
