Do you think we have enough people to start a separate genealogy thread?

I just got into this a couple of years ago but I only do it in the summer because otherwise it would suck the life out of me. I finally bought an Ancestry.com membership for a month and it helps because my ancestors before the 1880s are all in Europe. I will let it lapse when school starts.

Other than that, I collect national anthems in my head (working on Poland and Kenya at the moment), language learning, web surfing, reading. When I have the energy I like kayaking. Traveling's the big one, though.
Does anyone do any "Recycle" art/crafts?

Recently I have been looking into reusing, recycling, and repurposing perfectly good "trash". Such as cardboard boxes, spare paper, a huge roll of string that is taking forever to use up. (I swear it stretches into infinity if I tried to unravel the roll.) I have a huge amount of beer bottle caps, I'm thinking of how to use them? Mini-picture frames, pendants, charms, magnets? (Oh, the ideas!!)

So far I have one art/sketch journal in progress made out of copier paper and empty candy boxes. (Thinking of what to make my little two little sisters. Cool stuff I wish I had back when I was in school.)

I really enjoy lots of what I call " Up-cycling" items that were trash.

I am a little too busy to do much of it right now- or even discuss it much, but tickle my ear about this in a few weeks and we can share projects, websites, etc.
As for the Re/Up-cycling projects: Sketchbook Journals!!
2 of them: one was a prototype and has a green inner-page and bad spine binding and the second was a LOT better. I decided to just "do the basics" rather than "get all creative" which tends to mess it up.
Blank page Candy box covered books.
Finished them just last week.

Hello new best friend!

ROFL, I love making jewelry. Starting off with rock hounding, bringing the raw material home, using big rock saws then trim saws to get the basic form, grinding and polishing wheels, and making mostly cabochons, but also dabbling with faceting stones. I need to learn how to silver/gold smith though so i can make chains and settings instead of having to buy them through Tipps or other vendors.

other hobbies include reading, sports, hiking, camping, gold prospecting.

One of my favorite things to do is go to renaissance faires. I dress the part, normally wearing armor, but sometimes go as a noble. A lot of fun walking around in the armor, get stopped every 10 feet to take pictures with, people get OUT of your way when you are walking and show no sign of stopping, and lots of free beer (people always buy me beer, i love it!), and when i was single, lots of kisses from lots of cute girls XD

I also bead jewelry with semiprecious stones, crystals and fine silver...so many pretty shiny things!!

Other hobbies are working out and weightlifting, cooking, home renovation.
