Last month I went for my yearly exam. Since my mom & her sister both had breast cancer, and my dad's mom had ovarian cancer my doctor asked if I would be interested in the BRCA1 & BRCA2 testing done. These tests check to see if you have mutations making you more likely to have hereditary susceptibility to breast/ovarian cancers. Since learning of family members getting cancer (especially mom), it's always been in the back of my mind that it could be genetics. It came back negative! Yay!

Congrats!!!!
That is great news. It must be a big worry off of your mind. My mom died of cancer too - but it was stomach cancer. You don't hear much about that, especially if there is any genetic component.
What a relief! I'm glad the news was good!
