"Valley Girl"-This was one my mom had. I remember people raving about what a great movie this was, but other than the young Mr. Cage being incredibly hot, I thought this movie was BORING.
"S. Darko"-This was supposed to be a sequel to "Donnie Darko." It was OK. I felt the people who made it tried too hard, though. A lot of the effects and concepts from "Donnie" were kind of used to death in this film. It was well filmed, though, and I liked the concept. It was also kind of trippy, which is always good.

Shows my age- I
loved Vally Girl. Hahahaha.
Went to see Bridesmaids-I really enjoyed it. I needed a great laugh. DH was going to see his family, so I exited-stage left, and went to the movies!
BB, I was a teen in the 80s, but I was into metal and stuff like that. Totally could not relate to "the cool kids."

I was NOT cool BC, that is for sure-I sure wanted to be the Valley Girl though. I grew up in a redneck, racist, religious town of 30K....I thought 'Valley Girls' were fictional movie characters. Never realized that girls were actually like that or that there was a real place called 'the Valley"-not until I hit University years, lol.
Thankfully, my town is now a large city that is very liberal and culturally interesting and fun. So different than what was available in the 80's.
I hear ya.
Last night we saw "Battle: Los Angeles"-Blech! Boring. It was like one big commercial for the Marines. LOL! Hardly much of a story, very predictable. My BF chose that one. Tonight, I'M picking the movie! LOL!

DH and I recently saw Super 8 in the theater. I think we both liked it because we work around the railroad.
It was the kind of film that is not predictable too, which I enjoy.
We also saw the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I still favor the prior one over this newest one.
We saw "Easy A" last night. I thought it was cute, and I could relate pretty well to the main character, though for different reasons.

I loved this movie. I thought it was funny and fresh and definitely re-watchable.
I watched "Hanna" the other night. It's the movie about a girl raised in the forest for a specific violent task. It sadly did not meet my expectations. I had high hopes but was left a little bored.
I've heard "Hanna" was not that good.
Jen
Hubby & I just saw the movie "Burlesque" with Cher OMG I wish I could look that good at her age (65). Must be nice to have BIG money.
Anyway, of course it is a musical, and we both enjoyed it. And,
If you like musicals, you will like this movie too

Easy A! I love that movie! I liked Burlesque as well. I just got home from seeing Thor. I liked it...especially the actor who played Thor. Sweet Crispy Jesus, that man is gorgeous. I would like to have him, please.
I bought
Brain Damage a couple of weeks ago and watched it yesterday. It actually didn't suck as much as I'd hoped, which was a bit of a disappointment
Pepper-LOL! That's a new one!
We saw "I Am Number Four" last night. It was good. It's a teen action flick about aliens hunting down other aliens on Earth. I really liked it, and my BF and I think and are hoping there could be a sequel.

The Man In The Iron Mask-I really enjoyed it. Not a super high-budget film, but I liked it.
I love Leonardo DiCaprio though

I saw a black and white documentary about the Newport Jazz Festival between the years 1963 and 66 on the Ovation Channel. It focused mostly of folk music. It was nominated for an Academy Award and I can see why. It was great. Awesome music.
We saw "Despicable Me" the other night. Please don't waste your time with this brat ass clap trap.
UGH what a bummer this movie was. I thought it was going to be
about a character who would be despicable! And in the beginning he was. And it was very funny and witty.
But, then he had to run into 3 orphans who he thought he would use to pull off his master theft plan. But as it turned out he winds up falling in love with the brats, UGH
So no more Despicable Me. What was really despicable was how this movie got away with all the sap of some low life, scumbag, master
genius at being a super criminal! All of a sudden falls in love with 3 little girls? UGH, gag, chocke, barf.
Well, I am here to warn you all. DO NOT see this movie.
The title is very deceiving!
Yeah. We saw it. I knew what it was about, but I love Steve Carrell. That movie was a real letdown.

TG Its always nice to know I am not alone. Hubby loved it, lol
Yuck is what I said, lol Thanks Jen

"Megamind" was much better!

I'm going to see Harry Potter at midnight tonight. It is my deepest, most sincere hope that the movie veers from the book, as the 7th and final book was such a predictable letdown.
