Oh, I should totally watch that, it would help with funeral planning in hospice. Dealing with the deceased to have no plans in place or someone to take care of it is really a big problem, and I need to know more of the details in case that comes up. Most of our patients are in nursing homes, and the facility has to name the funeral home that will take care of it, but that's not always the case. Thanks for the idea.
Waterlily, that sounds very interesting to me, but it would hit way too close to home. Sad

Luckily, my ex's sister had the money to get his cremains back from the state medical examiner's office. I don't think the family had money for a funeral, though. I know I didn't.

That kind of stuff fascinates me, in any case.

We just got back from seeing Pirate Radio. It was outrageously funny. It's a fictional story but these pirate radio stations really existed.

I started in radio when I was 18 years old and it really took me back, seeing all the old equipment, the turntables, the great music and such. Back when radio meant something and was rebellious, not crappy corporate sellout crap (which is probably why it's dying).

I also learned a new phrase - "bottom bashing fornicators"!

Afterwords we hit Barnes and Noble. All their Criterion stuff is on sale if you have one near you. Besides 'Andrei Rubley' from the Soviet Union. I also went much more low brow and purchased Shawn of the Dead and the Replacement Killers. The Replacement Killers has Jurgen in it. Can't wait to watch that one.
Saw the MJ movie. DH was at a business dinner and I was bored, so I biked to the theater.

Snoooooo-zzzerrrrrrrr.

Was it ever boring. I mean, I liked some of it (esp. the Thriller part), but it was too long overall. I can't believe the majority of people on the website FANDANGO said this movie is a "Must Go!".
"Shaun of the Dead" is an awesome movie! Smile

Then again, I'm an unapologetic Simon Pegg fan, so his humor appeals to me.

We saw the new "Star Trek" last night. I thought it was fantastic, but I couldn't resist the urge to hiss "Sylar!" whenever Spock "had a moment." LOL! ("Heroes" reference for those who did not get the reference.)

I thought the casting and the effects and the writing and the acting were all great. I really thought it was a good remake...And yes, I am a fan of the original Trek, as well as TNG and Voyager.

Shaun of the Dead is great because it's more realistic than most zombie movies. I love how the characters are oblivious to the zombies for the first part and then just do stupid things like blasting the music and smashing the window of the pub and best of all, answering his phone.
We saw Revolutionary Road - has everyone seen it yet? It's really, really good. Not uplifting but well filmed, well acted and engaging.
We watched Shaun of the Dead yesterday. It was really funny. Eddy, I also liked how they didn't notice the zombies at first -- especially when Shaun staggers down to the store!
I like the part where Shaun and Ed are singing and the zombie groans, and they realize it and play off it. That always cracks me up. That, and beating the bartender-zombie to the beat of "Can't Stop Me Now" by Queen. LOL!

We saw three movies this weekend - all older from the library: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (snore-fest, I didn't like it at all); Nancy Drew (I thought it was very cute and reminded me of all the hours I spent reading Nancy Drew books!); and House of D which I enjoyed very much. Love Robin Williams in pretty much any movie...
Cats, I was very disappointed with "Eternal Sunshine," too. It's too bad, because it was a (sort of) interesting story.

We just saw "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" last night. I'd heard that it sucked, but I liked it a lot. I thought they did a great job! (I was really into the Transformers when I was a girl. I've always been a massive tomboy.) It really could have been a whole lot worse.

DH and I saw Disney's A Christmas Carol in digital 3D at the iMax theater. I thought it was great! 3-D has sure come a long way since I last went and this theater wasn't even half full.

Also watched UP Balloons last night. Very cute story.

I really want to see Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire.
MTV was showing Beavis and Butthead Do America. First time I've watched MTV in years.
OMG. I thought that was so funny, Eddy. Tongue

Not high quality stuff, but entertaining. It's nice to turn off the brain once in a while.

I saw "Ice Age Dawn Of the Diansour" It was OK. The first 2 were better.
Of course after the elephant found his sole mate naturally they have to bring a baby ( ugh) into the mix.
So that just about ruined it for me.
But the squirell after the acorn scenes were still hysterical Smile
But despite the baby subplot, it was not that bad of a flick.
It had some very funny moments.

To be honest most of my entertainment is escapist. I don't watch a lot of "serious" things. I loved B&B though, especially the video segments which were hilarious.

I LOVE Beavis and Butthead. I think Beavis is actually a highly underestimated Zen philosopher! When the series ran on MTV I could sit and watch morona-thans for hours!
Yup. Me, too. Tongue

I might put it in my Netflix queue so D can see it. He might find it funny.

I loved the two part episode where it was a parody of It's a Wonderful Life and because Butthead was never born everyone's life was better. Beavis in particular was actually nice. He was volunteering at a soup kitchen.
