I was just curious as to why Fire Fox won't play anything in You Tube
In fact it won't play anything that requires sound or picture.
Like if I get a greeting card sent to me from 123greetings.com
I have to close FF and Open I.E
in order to see my card.
Same thing with anything I get in You Tube. I have to open I.E to see it.
Is FF unable to read Pix and sound?
It seems very silly to me to have to jump back and forth from one browser to another.
But, FF does have some useful features I DO LIKE
which makes it worth the jumping.
But I do so wish FF could do it all.
Or could it be something I am not doing right??
Please to the FOAK of the net, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Update your Firefox.
When you get to a website with content you want, see if, right above the screen, you get a pale yellow bar telling you it has blocked content -- you can click on it (or on the "Options" button to the right of it), and install it right then.
yeah, sounds like you havent installed the Flash plug-in. if you dont get the little bar that PrairieGirl mentioned, go to
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ select your operating system, and then "other browser" and download and install it.
There is no pale yellow bar, there is no option to say upload flashplayer
there is zero nothing.
If I click on any video in you tube, what should be where the screen is to play, is totally white! And there is nothing there to help me direct where or what to install.
Besides I already have flashplayer installed in I.E
So now what? LOL

If you are running the Ad Block add-in for Firefox it will block flash content on some sites. To test that you have to click on the options for Ad Block and turn it off, then refresh the page. If you aren't running Ad Block I'm not sure.

WTH? sorry but I do not know what this means? What is Ad Block?
And where would I find it in FF?
All major programs have a built in help manual. Click the help menu at the top of the page and select "Firefox Help" (first option in the dropdown box). Type in your issue (ie "video won't play") and you'll get a list of articles to read to troubleshoot your problem.
Many Thanks Mark I will do that later. ITMT I need to make a new thread cause no one wanted to help me decide on what computer to buy.
(More in good news thead)

try downloading the plug in for firefox. I linked it up a few posts. it may just be you dont have the flash plug in for firefox installed. its different than the one for I.E. follow that link and it will take you to the download page for the firefox plug in.

Joe I tried your link above and when I clicked on it nothing happened. Then I got some huge big page telling me that I have to uninstall any previous flash player downloads. So, WTF I can either have Flash Player on I.E OR on FF But not BOTH?? That makes no sense to me at all. But that is what seems to be happening to me. Either that, or its just this POC computer that is doing it. But that will end soon when I try go our & buy us new computer real soon
Mark I went to the help site it said the same thing Joe said to install Flash player. So I got to a diff site but same action of installing it. So it installed and I said Ok good now it should play... Wrong..... I went to You tube and still nothing But it plays just fine in I.E.
So I am totally confused. whaaaaaaaaaa
Any more help will be greatly appreciated
