Progress report: Nothing but progress. Saw doc this week, we are both pleased. About the only thing I can't do right now is a pushup. He says, "Don't do things that hurt." Seeing him again, probably for the last time, in two months.

An implant wasn't necessary. He basically made me a new joint out of stuff from the old one. It looks funny on the x-ray because one end of the radius is just . . . gone. But soft tissue in there replaces it and cushions what's left. I have the exact same thing in my left shoulder and never even think about it.

So if anyone is considering joint repair, full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes. My arm feels better than it has in two years. I can now throw a ball overhand in a straight line without pain. The dogs are glad.
Yay!

I don't believe in unnecessary surgeries, but a coworker recently had her hip done and she said it was the most wonderful thing... she's no longer constantly in pain!
