I had to take Boots back to the vet again today ( 3-3-10)
He was still coughing & sneezing. Only not as bad as he was the first time.
And since I now have some funds, I want to make sure he is healthy.
DR K said that it is possible that there was some residual effects left over from his URI he had. So she gave him another shot and he was good to go.
But what amazes me about this cat is... Not once does he ever try to run, or act scared, or attack Me or the Vet with his claws.
He is such a good boy!!! I am just in awe of how he acts when he is around total strangers. He just loves the company and attention no matter where he is, lol.
But he is sleeping quietly now, and so far not a sneeze or cough out of him.
I wish I could say the same for me! LOL
( See Health Thread)
poor Boots, i hope everything goes well for him *hugs*
I have a lil fur kid, his name is Galileo (after the italian astronomer, not the Queen song 'bohemian rapsody, lol!)
i would do just about anything for him! He went missing on Sunday for about 5 hours and because we had just moved house i was stressing BIG TIME! But then i found him content as could be sitting in the sun out the front, looking at the side gate contemplating whether he should come back in or not...MISCHIEF!
Good luck with Boots, best wishes all the way from Australia :-)

Stella

to the boards and many thanks for my Boots. He seems to be feeling better and no more sneezing.
I love the name Galileo.. But of course now that song is stuck in my head
( From Queen) lol But, that was great that you found him
Moving can be a big PITA

Good luck to you all.
Boots Update:
I am happy to report that the second round of antibiodics did the trick for my baby boy.
Boots is no longer coughing, sneezing or wheezing.
He is all healthy again.
TG too, cause the Vet had said if this did not work we would have to try other measures. And I was not too happy about that idea.
But TG there is no need for it at all.
He has been cough & sneeze free for over 3 weeks now.
And that makes us very happy indeed

I bumped this thread to say Boots went back to the vet today. I had been concerned with some constant vomiting. But as always in cases where you KNOW your going to the Dr or Vet the problems resolves itself magically, lol.
Anyway since he had not barfed since Sunday ( 10-2-11) DR K thought maybe he had a bit of kitty flu, that comes around every now and then. The good news is, he checked out fine, he has NO fever and all looks well. The bad news is if he continues to barf on a daily basis. I may have to subject him to some serious testing.
But she said I can hold off on that idea for a while. And try some of that "Cat Lax" that is used for hairball control. The thing of it is, when he does vomit, it is all food, no hair. So, I think its just due to the fact that he eats too fast. But I am not going to try the "Cat Lax" just yet. I will wait and see how he is after the medicine of his shot kicks in. Besides his food is geared for hairball control anyway. So why add more?
She also said that his shot often helps with tummy issues too as well as his sneezes. Which he had a round of rapid fire sneezing last night.
So I am glad I got him his shot. Plus he was long overdue for one. His last one was back in May.
So now as of 10-6-11 hopefully he will be back to his old self again sneeze & barf free, lol.
Right Now as I type, he is curled up behind me fast asleep.
And all is well in his little world.
And mommy is $76 poorer, but he is worth every cent

Poor guy, but at least it's good that he's hopefully on the mend! Please keep us updated on his health.
MANY Thanks Ziggy.
Update: Well the barfing has stopped. So I guess whatever was in his shot seemed to help his tummy more then his allergies. Cause he may have stopped barfing, but he is still sneezing & coughing.
So, I really don't know what to do now. Its way too soon to get another shot. So, hopefully when the weather changes he might get some relief from his sneezing.
