Hi Gang,
Well before I begin.
YES our city looks like a winter wonderland. We got so much snow
I got a text from brother a few days ago saying The house sale that was scheduled for Sat 27th
was postponed.
I know I should call him. But I will get to him later, lol.
OK where do I begin.
I guess at the beginning of our trip.
We arrived at the airport on time
SUNDAY Feb 21st : We rode on one of Continental's newest jets.
No more Free movies. BUT, you get free head sets and for a mere swipe of your credit card for $6 you can enjoy DirectTV through your whole flight.
Each headrest has a mini TV screen on the back and its the size of the headrest you it is very visible. And you can watch TV for 4 hours, lol. So that is what Bob did and he had the best flight of his life. Cause, he was able to relax, and not count the boring hours on his flight. Me? Well I read a book. Cause if I wanted TV it would be another $6 and I wanted to read anyway, lol
Yep, you cannot share, its $6 per seat.
BUT we still get fed. We had a great breakfast on the plane
Consisting of a small very sweet banana, milk a box of HoneyNut cheerios and a luscious Cranberry muffen.
So, anyway it was a wall of clouds all the way there and a very bumpy ride. But we landed smoothly.
So after leaving the plane we headed out to the Rent A Car area and we picked up the car we was to have for the day.
We got a Dodge Charger. ( white, but hey, you get what you get with Thrifty, lol)
But, let me tell you gang, those cars are nice! I wish we had one.
The trunk was so roomy And the seats were comfy and
And Bob loved tooling around Vegas in it, lol
So we headed over to "Bill's Gambling House". And checked in
And then we went to the "Mirage"
where they had a buffet area called "The Cravings"
They were serving Brunch and the line was a mile long, lol
Well I exaggerate a little but it was a wait. So in that time frame we met a couple from England and they were so sweet to talk with us and share their stories of economic woe's and stuff.
So, it made the wait in line go faster.
Anyway, we got seated at last and The food was OK. But Bob loved it. Keep in mind I am a very picky eater. And when food is not hot, I am not happy. And when I mean Hot I don't mean warm, or room temp. I mean steaming hot.
And that was not the case for me.
But again, Bob loved it so, that was fine by me.
I did find a few things I did like.
The French Toast was to die for.
YUM, and the bacon was good.
And they had great S.F desserts too.
So, I left stuffed too, lol
Bob just loved their eggs Benedict
and prime rib.
So anyway after we left there.
Bob could not take it anymore being on his feet.
You see, silly hubby forgot to pack his tennis shoes.
So, he was in his dress loafers the whole time, and his feet were about to fall off from the pain.
So, we found a cheap outlet mall to go shopping in and he finally found a pair of Tennis shoes his size 15 that were comfortable for him.
So that was his souvenir from Vegas, lol. Just kidding.
So after all the mall walking we did. We finally got to a Casino
And did some gambling.
Bottom line on the whole trip regarding gambling was........
I LOST!!!!!!!!!
Of course.Did I expect anything different? LOL Not with my luck, lol. But I was not about to lose it all.
So I saved out $300, And that is what I came home with.
BOB was MR Lucky
I swear every time he put money in he got more money out.
Bottom Line for him
was he came home with the same amount he left with which was $900
So he had a Free Vacation
And let me tell you how he managed that. After I finish with Sunday.
Keep in mind we was up at 6AM
But we had to still stay awake
cause we had a 10:30 show to go see "Zumanity"
We had front row seats and Isis it was the best show we ever saw. I don't know if that show would be for everyone here. Not that I know some of you would enjoy the aerial stunts.
but, I am NOT sure if most of you would enjoy the graphic language and loads of sexual overtones and loads of nudity on stage?
But nevertheless we enjoyed it!!!
And with us being in the front row, well we got to particpate in the show. So that is all I will say on that is we just had a faboulous time.
Then after the show we went back to our hotel room and fell sound alseep at 3AM Vegas time, lol
Its a 3 hour time diff for us.
So it was 6AM out time. Which meant we was awake 24 hours straight!
MONDAY Feb 22nd:
We bascially had nothing planned We slept in very late.
Then we went back to NYNY casino where we forgot to buy a souviner of Zumanity.
But first we stopped at this place that looked like they were serving excellant fish.
Now, I am not a big fish eater.
But I tell you guys this fish was to die for.
It was better then anything "Long John Silvers" ever had.
It was called
"The Fulton Fish Market"
and for $7.95 you get 2 huge fillets plus fries and cole slaw to die for too.
And we was in fish heaven, lol
Better then Macdonald's fish too
It was so mild, you did not even know you was eating fish.
The batter was sooooooo good.
OK then after we ate, we went to
the Zumanity gift shop. BUT it was closed!!!
So we asked if there was another gift shop. So we found that and asked one of the employee's if they had any Zumanity items there cause the Zumanitys gift shop was closed.
The guy said " hang on I will get someone to open it up for you"
and sure enough this lady came out with keys to the shop that was closed.
Opened it up just for us!!! like we was roylaity or something.
She locked us in the store and we had the whole store to browse in.
Plus she gave us inside info to the show we just saw that previous night. Telling us all about the actors and where they came from and stuff, she was so nice we were like in seriel land. That was how cool that was.
So Bob bought a set of shot glasses and a Program
AND we THANKED her up & down and gave her a couple of $2 bills
And she was so excited with it too.
Cause it seems that $2 bills are rare in Vegas. And everyone loves them, lol.
So we got our stuff and left.
Then basically we did some shopping for souviners for BIL & SIL & MIL and I even got Brother an ash tray that says
"Ron's Butts" lol
I hope he likes it.
Then for dinner we went to The Rio for their buffet.
Theirs was a bit better imho. But they had the same foods nothing spectacular & nothing realy to rave about except,
they did have the very best
S.F chocolate Ice cream ever.
lol. They called it, Gellato but it was heaven for me, lol
Especially for it to be sugar free.
Then we went back to Bill's and did some gambling.
Basically not having any luck for me. But Bob kept winning and everytime he spent money on a dinnner or lunch for us he won it back on the slots, lol
OK On to
TUES Feb 23rd:
We woke up and drove to this little place off the strip called
"Raising Canes" They only sell chicken strips. And it was to die for too. Plus they had excellant cole slaw too.
Then we drove around alot
and then we went to see
The "Price is Right Live! at 2:30PM
We had front row seats.
And the announcer came out and geared up the audiance.
And they had 2 huge TV screens for the people in the back to see what was going on.
But we was like right next to the area where the 4 contestdents stand and bid.
The Price is Right Live" is totally different from the PIR with Drew
They try to get as many winners as possible.
So when the 4 people come up and bid. The same 4 do NOT stay the whole game like the PIR does on TV.
No sirree. The one that wins gets on stage to play a game and the other 3 go back to their seats with a FREE T Shirt
And they call 4 new people after every game.
They even call 2 totally different people to spin the big wheel of the day. I think that was totally unfair. And they pick 2 totally different people to play the show case show down. I know they try to get as many different people to play. But, to me I feel they should as leat honor the big winner of the day with something special?
But that just did not happen
And of course NO one won the showcase. Both men overbid on it, lol So they got free T shirts too.
So anyway, the very first game was
The Race game.
Where there are 4 prices to price
and you got to race back and pull the handle and if it shows 2 you get to try again. and you keep going till you get all 4 right or if you get 0 1 2 or 3 you lose it all
Well that is the TV version
Here in Vegas you keep whatever it is you won.
So on this game the very first item up for bids was an Icecream maker.
But before I tell you that.
Being as it was the very first item up for bid.
Guess who got called down.....
.......................................
.................................................
If you guessed me, you was wrong.
Nope it was "ROBERT PERKINS COME ON DOWN" LMAO
I was in shock guys, I bet my face turned a dozen shades of red!
And of course my darling BOB Knows his appliance prices.
So everyone overbid, he guessed $90 and the retail price was $180
but everyone else had bid $200 & more,so, yep he won!
So he was on stage doing of all things the RACE GAME!
Now picture my big hubby trying to race?? Nope it did not work out well for him at all.
With his bad ear, he could not hear the audinace helping him let alone hear me trying to help him.
So he only got 2 out of the 4
So he not only won an ice cream maker. He won a Hammock and a Kariokie machine.
LOL
Yea Boy really great prices, NOT!!
But Bob is now explaining to me why.
They do not have the advertizers to help pay for the stuff.
Vegas has to pay for the girls, the host, which is they guy who starred in Super Market Sweep. His name is David Ruprecht and he was a very nice man. Very funny too. But Drew Cary's show Or Bob Barkers show as it was was all paid for by tons of commercials so they can afford to give out better prizes.
So anyway, that was what we won. And after the show all the Contestants that won prizes was to stay after the show, and follow the producer. Well I had to pee in the worst way so I told Bob I would meet him outside.
Mr Ruprecht told everyone he too would be outside the Jubille Theater mingling and taking photos with people.
Well the tickets said no cameras in the theater so we left our cameras in the rented car. But we did have our cell phone cameras so I was able to snap a decent Pix of Bob who was the BIGGEST winner of the day not only in size but of $$ wise too. Cause after the show the producers told all the winners they can take the original gifts that they won, and they would be shipped to them at no charge. Or take the CASH Value but it would be a bit less. But you would have $$ in your hand that second. And of course Bob took the Cash which came to $370. That was Bob's big win. Plus like I said he won up and down up and down the whole time we was there. So he was one happy camper being on stage doing the "Price is Right Live".
So he had his 15 seconds of fame, lol
OK so after the PIR we just bascially stayed at Ballys and gambled. After that we went to dinner..
We had the idea in our heads that we would met up with friends who planned on flying in on WED for dinner. So Bob had this coupon he had got on line.
Bob did a lot of searching on line for different places to go to off the strip. And I am so glad he did.. This new place was called
"Texas De Brazil" And OMG gang, even though it is very expensive it is worth every penny.
This is THE buffet to go to If you ever go to Vegas IMHO of course.
You don't ever have to leave your seat!!. These men called "goucho's" come to YOU. They come all over with every kind of meat you could ask for. And everything was piping HOT the way I like it. Plus you get a big bowl of mashed taters to split, and rolls and a salad bar. The salad you have to get yourself like a normal buffet. But the meat! OMG it was wonderful. I am so glad we went there. Their lamb chops was to die for. And they had garlic sirloin too. Which you know I love garlic! And Bob was in heaven cause he never had to leave his seat. He was served like a king!
Every kind of meat you could ask for. Pork, lamb, roast steak chicken everything. It was the BEST dinner I ever had in Vegas! And I hope to go back there again someday!
And all for $45 cause Bob had a BOGO free coupon.
It was a belated birthday coupon they sent him in his e mail, lol
So our best meal was on Tues night. And even if we did not have a coupon it is STILL worth every penny, imho of course.
After that we went back to our room to sleep and wake up for..
WED Feb 24th. I had my Horse back ride.. And I was very dissapointed in how they had me mount my horse. The loading platform to which I was promised over the phone before I even got to Vegas and I was assured at least 3 times. that it would would be their, was NOT their.
But to be fair,
I was the only rider. So they felt it was not fesable money wise to bring it out.. So they had me climb this cold steel rail and step on to a concrete trash can and mount the horse that way. And that was the same way I had to get off it.
Of course Jackie the owner was there and she was very nice & sweet and encourged me that I could do it. And I did do it. But that is not the POINT! I was promised something I did not get, and I don't think I will ride with them again.
Or at least not do it at the weight that I am at again.. For me that was NO FUN at all...
But the ride itself, made it worth the grief.
Like I said, I was all alone with the one wrangler named Diane. She was nice.. She was from New York so I could hear her accent. And she took me on an awesome ride. My horse's name was " Itty Bitty Blonde" she was a sweet mare but very lazy.
ALSO very SMALL too. She stood about 5 hands high, but she was broad in the hips so she can take a lot of weight, lol. I felt bad that she had to carry me. But Jackie assured me she had taken people on bigger then me, so I was ok with it all.
And YES I did gain my weight back with all the stress I have been though this past year with Hubby out of work and my mother passing away, I blew it big time. So IF there were any green eyes around that was upset that I lost some weight, you will be happy to know I gained it back!
Anyway Itty Bitty ( lol I know what a name for a horse, LMAO) anyway, She would dawdle and I would have to smack her to get her to move, lol. But once we got turned around and she knew she was headed on home, then she moved.. Oh Boy did she move. She took off on a trot and I was not ready and I almost fell off of her, lol. But I held on strong, and just lost one foot out of my stirrup.
So Diane helped get my foot back in and we was fine...
So that was my ride. After I got done with my ride I fed Itty Bitty her apples and Andy too. He was the lead horse and very grateful for his treat too. Itty Bitty got jealous and she wanted more apples so I gave the majority of apple pieces I had to her, lol...
After the ride I got back to our hotel. Bob had a good time at a strip joint. I let him go, cause he does not ride. And he needs a way to unwind too, lol. So he can watch all the women he wants,he knows the rules.. Watch but no touch, lol.
So he had a good time too. But I tell you gang I am still sore as hell... When I got back to my room. I drew a hot bath and sat there for a long time and read my book.. I figured the more time I stay away from the slots the better off I would be.. Basically we did not gamble as much as we normally do. I was so unlucky I figured the best bet was just to eat& shop, lol..So anyway it was still in the afternoon when we got a call from our pals saying they landed safely and we would meet them for dinner around 6 or so. So we stayed in our room for a few hours telling each other about or mornings. Then Bob's phone rang and it was Jerry telling Bob that his wife, Karen was sick. See she had a tooth pulled before she left for Vegas and the Meds that they gave her, gave her the trots. So they took a rain check on dinner.
Later on Karen called me too And she said we would get together for dinner in Cleve. sometime soon and she apologised and all. I told her don't be silly, and to get well soon.. She was afraid to leave the room that was how bad it was for her.
So our last night in Vegas we tried to see stuff we never saw before. So we drove to the Trump Tower. and OMG you talk about being a fish out of water. That was what we felt like being there.. First off we both had to pee. So we went into the restrooms and they were so luxuious. The stall doors went to the floor. The sinks were made out of gold. They had linen towels to wipe your hands with all rolled up in a pile that looked like a pyrimed. We saw women dressed to the 9's spoiled rich ass dogs walking in and out of the tower doors. ( they were so cute too, lol)
We immediatly knew we was not in the right place. But just to make sure we had to ask and we found out that the Trump Tower was NOT a casiono, lol
So left and drove to The Orleans which we never saw. And it was very nice there too
We gambled a bit and then left. I was so sore from my ride. Plus my bad leg was aching through the whole trip. And I forgot my leg bandage. So I was in agony most of the time. But I still managed to have fun, lol. As long as I was able to sit for a while and take some breaks I was fine.
And of course Bob was having a great time with all the great FF places around.
We stopped at the
"In & Out Burger" place. I was not hungry & I wanted to wait and save my tummy for the best shrimp in Vegas.. Which is located downtown at the Golden Gate Casino. And YES we stayed on Freemont again. Bob made a little video of it too. I am hoping it comes out ok.
So, we had a great time and yes again. Bob lost and won and that was how he came home with the same amount he started with, lol
So he said he would use that money for stuff we need for the house and pay on his own personal credit card that he has.
( long story, longer then this one, lol)
So anyway, that was Wed night.
Thurs FEB 25th : Our last day in Vegas we wake up to sunshine and 65ยบ
I swear gang, if it was not for our baby Boots, I would have stayed their forever, lol. But alas, we had to return. Our flight did not leave till 2:30 Vegas time.
But we had to get up early pack up everything take the car to get filled with gas and have Lunch all before 1PM when when had to return the rental car to Thrifty. Then we got on the bus to take us back to the airport. and the rest is obvious, lol
We had a smoother flight coming home. Plus again on a new plane with the TV so Bob got to see a few good show's while I read and took a nap, lol. We had dinner which was a hot spicy chicken sandwhich, and a salad and a tiny twix bar for dessert. I gave Bob my sandwhich ( I did not like it) and I ate granola that I bought from this cool store we found called
"Whole Foods Market" I swear gang this place is a Vegans dream come true. It is stocked with everything healthy and natural for you everything you can possibily think of. Just like an A&P market, only all healthy foods. And believe it or not the prices were not that bad at all.
But anyway I bought this great cherry granola mix and had the rest of it with me on the plane, lol so that was my dinner with some milk that I asked them for as my drink of choice, lol.
So we landed in Cleve at 9:30PM with a BIG thud! As we for the first time sat in the very BACK of the plane. Usually we get seats by the wing or up front. But this time we was way back and we really felt the landing, lol
But anyway, we got our luggage just fine, and when we saw it snowing we knew we were to see our poor car covered in ice and snow once again. It was a major PITA to clean off. But Bob did a good job. And we decided to get Boots that same night. Cause it was snowing so bad we thought we would be snowed in for sure.
And of course Boots was very very happy to see us.
He slept with me last night and he is behind me now snoozing away under his fav blanket.
I know it is Sunday
Feb 28th But I needed some time to unwind, unpack, and get use to all this cold and snow once again.
Plus I needed time to get the Pix loaded into the computer.
So anyway, now my hand is getting sore, so I am going to wrap this up by saying I had a wonderful time in Vegas as I always do.
and of course there is no place like home, lol. So I hope you enjoyed my eppic here for you today
PS My Pix seems to be too Big for this site. But at least you get to see the Star of the Price Is Right Live & My hubby, lol
