I just got this off the Pandalous site, and thought you might enjoy it:

"Parenting is the only life choice for which we are asked to explain not doing something. Does anyone charge up to an accountant and demand to know why she didn't choose to be a doctor and save lives? Do you ask your child's preschool teacher why he isn't fighting fires? No.

"When someone asks me why I don't want children, I simply reply "'I don't know how to explain a lack of interest in something. Why don't you think of something you don't want to do, and tell me about it?'"

That's great - I love it!!
Nice! I'll be sure to use it when the opportunity comes up.
Good comebacks! I'll use them if I need to.
GREAT site. I am trying to join, but I am having a very hard time with it. Can't seem to log-in. Weird.

I haven't tried yet. But I will, and I'll let you know how it goes.
Good reply - it's to the point without being obnoxious. I might need it someday!

Here's one that I still haven't found a polite reply for:
Coworker: *Comment about something fun they did with kid*
Me: "Sounds like fun, provided that the child isn't mine!"
Coworker: "That's what I used to say."

I should probably just learn to never make the comment "Just so long as the child isn't mine!" but until then... The most recent person who said something to me has two young kids, is recently divorced and has anger-management issues so I left the conversation at that, but it did make me wonder if there is a good reply. Any suggestions are appreciated!
"Isn't that precious?"
