You know what I mean -- those times when breeders or their spawn remind you in a concrete way just how great it is to be childfree by choice.

Mine happened when we went over to my aunt's house. My sister, BIL and 3 year old nephew were in town. The nephew had a meltdown when there were no more gifts for him to open. It was right at me feet. I looked down and said, "there's another reason why I have cats". Luckily he doesn't have one of those horribly screechy voices that grates on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard, but it was bad enough. He also kept taking off his shirt and pants and was running around in a onesie. I'm thinking maybe he's a little big for that, but maybe that's just me.
Yep, my in-laws were whining about how obnoxious their little brat was when he was opening presents. I'm so glad I missed it, and don't have a brat of my own to deal with. I couldn't stand it.
Just during shopping when they would go off like little alarm systems in various stores, and I could just walk away. I just wonder why they keep screaming if it doesn't improve their situation. Where do they get the energy for that?
Every time a customer would complain about how much they spent on their kids, how many times they had to go to the big city 45 miles away and fight crowds and traffic, and how many relatives and grands' they *HAD* to go visit in the bad weather. Nope, not this kid. I only had to keep the cat warm and fed and the holidays were a breeze!
Horse Racer - that sounds hideous.

I was REALLY lucky - my niece and nephew and even J's nephew are old enough now that they are past the freaking out over presents part. They even carefully removed the wrapping paper rather than just tearing into it - a big change over earlier years. I think I'm safe from little kids at the holidays until the nieces and nephews start having kids. Hopefully that day is a LONG way off.
Every time I think of my Poor SIL and her hubby who is stuck in the prime of their senior hood. When they got done raising their own kids! And now they are stuck raising their grandkids cause their kids are too irrisponsibile to provide for their own childen.
I TG every day that I am CF Smile
Especially cause Xmas time we could not see my SIL cause she was
busy with the Twins and her 4yr old grandson
YIKES, TG I was spared that mess.
But I do miss my SIL. I just wish she would let her own kids raise her own kids, lol.
I already complained about mine. I went to a 3 year old's birthday party. There were kids and fat moos everywhere. Bleck.
