Has anyone tried those work out shoes, like sketcher's shape ups? If so, were they effective? I was considering getting a pair because I love to walk and it would help with getting exercise outside the gym, but I wasn't sure if they were worth the investment.
I've been curious about these to as I've seen plenty of commercials on them recently. I'm curious as to what it does and how it works. It seems like it changes your posture or the way you walk which would make you use slightly different parts of your muscles to walk. I wonder if it keeps you slightly off balance so you are constantly flexing your muscle to balance yourself?

I've heard that there are a lot of complaints about stumbling with them on. For me, since I have the bad knee, I can't afford to take a tumble, so I'm going to have to pass.
I haven't tried Shape-Ups, but I have worn Earth shoes and like them. They have a negative heel, so it's like walking on a 3% incline when you have them on. They definitely take some getting used to, but they're actually supposed to help your posture and burn extra calories at the same time. There are a ton of styles too. You can check them out HERE. I've had a few different pairs, and can usually find good deals on them online (I've bought most of them from Planet Shoes).

I see Adidas has come on with a couple of styles for walking and running. Reebok has also expanded their selection, too.

Do they work? I don't know. I haven't met anyone who has them.

I need a new pair of tennis shoes. Maybe I will order a pair through Nordstroms and if they aren't any good, I will use their no hassle return to take them back.
Other shoe stores will not even look at a pair of shoes if worn, even once! I can't take that chance with a, $80-$120 shoes that could kill my feet or just be gimmicky
