OK people, I know it doesn't start until February but we should start a thread for the final season of LOST Sad

I can barely remember what happened on the season finale. I hate that they wait so long between seasons and that the season is so short.

Let's catch up on the final episode of last season and speculate about how it will all end.

Do you think everyone that died will somehow be resurrected when everyone gets off the island? Will they get off the island? Why did Jack so desperately want to get everyone back to the island?

LOL ITA NKB Its been so long I forgot the whole plot of it all, lol
I just hope they wrap it up that makes sense to everyone and that they don't go "Lame" with the last season. And YES I hope they all get off the island for good! Including Hugo, lol
Tonight's the night. Don't forget it comes on an hour early for the recap.
I totally need the recap, that's for sure! I can't remember a thing that happened last season. I have a number of friends that re-watched the whole last season before this one gets going, but I just didn't have the time for that. Apparently there was a 'pop-up' rerun of the season finale last week, but I didn't know it was going to be on, so I missed it.

Still...looking foward to the new season starting tonight.

Vanessa
I think the recap goes all the way to the beginning. I actually have it on my DVR already. It's already aired here in Canada but I haven't watched it yet. I'll watch it before the show tonight.
Fuck Me! That was amazing!

What did you all think? Season six is going to be just as fucked up as the past five seasons. OMG. What a thrill ride.

Theories?
No theories, I just think it's sad that Jacob died. I mean, he lived all these 100s of years like some kind of supernatural being, and all it takes to kill him is a couple of stab wounds and a fire?

And when Kate, Sawyer, Jack, et al, traveled forward in time after the bomb went off and they were at the imploded hatch, it was pretty ridiculous that their VW bus traveled through time with them!

And I guess there's some kind of alternate reality playing out now, too, with everyone from the plane never having crashed on the island. I guess.
I really enjoyed the opener. I thought it was well paced and really intriguing. Is anyone else wondering if Sayid is going to be a reincarnation of Jacob kind of like Locke is really the man in black? Oh, and how crazy is it about the smoke monster?! That was kinda cool!

Only thing that really bugged me right off the bat was during the alternate universe part on the airplane. When Sawyer was talking to Hurley and he was saying he's the luckiest guy in the world. How can that be? All the same bad things would have still happened to him (his grandpa dying, his mom's house burning down, the chicken shack blowing up) to get him to go to Australia in the first place. Unless he was lying, but it didn't strike me that way.

And apparently Shannon never got on the plane with Boone in this universe either. (I'm guessing they just couldn't get the actress to come back or something.)

I'm actually really excited about what they're going to do with this season. I have to admit, I was a little apathetic about it before it started, but the opener got me really into it again.

Vanessa
I was surprised Shannon wasn't on the plane as well. I think Hurley saying he was luckiest man alive is a clue. Maybe the fact that they went back actually changed things in some peoples' lives. Made the unlucky, lucky? Who knows. Also, I think Juliet murmuring something to Sawyer about getting a coffee is a clue as well.
That's true NKB. I didn't really think of that, since it was in the 70's when the bomb supposedly went off. I guess we're on two different timelines somehow now. One where the bomb went off and somehow sunk the island (at least that's what I took from the underwater sequence), and one where the island is still in existance. I wonder if somehow Juliet had an insight into both timelines and that's where the coffee thing came from and her saying "it worked". Ugh! This show always makes my head spin! (But in a good way!)

Vanessa
Yes, I believe the sinking of the island is a reminder of just how devastating their bomb was. Not only did it (supposedly) get them back to their real lives, but it did catastrophic damage to the rest of the world as well. Or at least, that small part of the world.
I have a bad feeling that they are going to show 2 worlds throughout the whole rest of the season.
What it would be like if the plane had never crashed to begin with, and the life on the island as it is now.
And that is totally fucked up. It does not answer anything from previous seasons it just makes things worse.
Like what is this smoke monster all about?
Is it all good guy soles? Or bad guy soles? If so, its either Locke or Sayid that will take Jacobs place. Depending on who you think is really a good or evil?
But the real John is dead, and some sort of spirit is running in his body that is for sure.
I know Ben is freaked out of his socks. It will be interesting to see if he does anything evil again, lol.
And as for Kate I think she would have been better off staying on the island.
Her life running from the law has to suck big time!
All in all Lost has me just as lost as I was when I first started watching it.
But, the acting is good, so I will watch it to the bitter end.
BTW FYI, I KNEW Sayid would wake up! No One dies on that island. Which was why Whitmore wanted it all to himself so much! Smile
I just caught up on the previous two episodes. Wow!

Who is David's mother? I think it might be Juliet. Kate would be far too obvious.

People! Chime in...
Perhaps David came from his marriage to Sarah, and this is a sort of alternative "what if" universe if none of them had been chosen by Jacob as a candidate.
Oh yes. I forgot about Sarah.

BTW, where are Dez, Penny and Charlie? I wonder when they will pop up.
Well, I am still trying to figure out why Clair would rather Kill the woman that has unselfishly raised her son, then to be grateful instead.
But I guess that is the evil smoke monster in her? Maybe she is dead too?
Who knows, all I know is Lost is leaving more questions then answers for me.
Who knew Jack even had a son! But he sure does know how to play a piano, that's for sure. What I would like to know too is, what will John do now that he has seen Jin? Will he lead him to Sun, or will he be a prick and take him on a wild goose chase? And has anyone else noticed that Hugo has dropped some weight?
Or am I just imangining it? And what will Jack do now.. This man is so tortured there is more to him then just this island!
Maybe David's mother really put him through a ringer whoever she may be, lol.
Jack's son is what...13, 14 years old in that episode? If this was a flash sideways - i.e. a look at how their lives would have turned out had the plane not crashed - then why is the kid so old?
I'm thinking the flash-sideways is not so much about the crash, as it is about Jacob. If he hadn't interfered in their lives, to put them on the path to go to the island, then their lives would be.......
I agree but I still don't understand why the kid is so old.
A million things could have happened differently if the island sunk before that flight. We don't know how long the island was under water, but it was probably caused by something the people did back in the 70s, so it's likely the island has been sunk for 30 years by now. Ben is a teacher and might not have ever been on the island. How long was Juliet on the island in the old timeline? Maybe Jack met and had a kid with her 14 years ago because she was out in the civilized world and not living on the island. Jacob talked to Sawyer when he was a kid, so he could have been influencing lots of things in Jack's past that would result in a kid. I think you're not thinking 4th dimensionally, as Emmitt Brown would say.
