You didn't miss much on the pop-up. I watched it yesterday and the only thing I didn't know was the the medicine that Richard killed the doctor for wouldn't have worked anyway because it was fake. They didn't come up with a cure for tuberculosis until WWII apparently.

OMG! That was the saddest episode of LOST ever! Jin and Sun are dead! They died together. How sweet and yet so sad

Ugh, it nearly KILLED me when Jin and Sun died. I kept thinking, "Go, Jin! Your daughter needs at least one parent!" But he didn't listen.
I don't think I'd be able to do it either. I couldn't live with myself knowing my DH was dead and I just left him there to die. No way.

I was thinking the same thing, that the daughter needed one parent, but how could he possibly leave her? I wouldn't leave my DH in that circumstance. Of course, I would probably break his legs to get him out of there, but whatever.
Oh, that was one awful episode! I'm hoping they are still alive -- I mean, it's television, and those deaths are vague, for television! (Okay, maybe I watch too many soaps, where dead is never dead!).
The Kwons just killed me! Sayid needed to die -- he had to pay for what he did, his turn to the dark side. But the Kwons? -- that was just awful! AWFUL!
Jorge Garcia has a blog, and a few weeks ago he was talking about the body count rising as the end nears. There may not be anyone but Jack left at the end, I don't know.
So, Jack who was instrumental in having everyone return, is the only one left alive? This would suggest that he would be responsible for all those peoples' deaths. How ironic and truly sad.
I still don't understand why he wanted everyone to go back in the first place.

That was just me making a guess, it has no basis in fact or in anything I've read or seen.

And I have to agree with NKB No way would I leave my DH to die.
And since children are not an issue for us. That would be our fate as well.
But as for Jin & Sun I guess they did not think of their darling daughter. So, I guess they were never meant to be good parents after all? Nah, just kidding. Jin never had a connection with the daughter as he only saw pix of her. And he is a MAN of HONOR so when he said he would NEVER leave his wife again he Meant it.
So for that I applaud Jin
But still very sad indeed.
I won't be too happy either if it ends with everyone dead on the island.
So maybe that is why they are showing the alternative life.

Sayid told Jack he needed Desmond, so I'm guessing Des has something to do with changing the timeline again (probably eliminating the alternate one).
It's Sawyer's fault those people died on the submarine. Jack was right, the Locke monster can't kill them (that's why Ben had to kill Jacob for him). It was Sawyer pulling the wires that triggered the bomb.

Oh yes, ITA with you Mark. If Sawyer had just for once listened to Jack, they would be all safe. But nooooo not our Dimples, he just had to have it HIS way! So Yep ITA the deaths of Sun, Jin and Sayid and the rest are all on Sawyers shoulders now.
So if Desmond can fix things, will everyone end up as things were in the sideways version? Sawyer and Miles as cops rather than con men, Jack and Claire as happy siblings, Hurley and Libby together with chicken? Wait, Kate was still a fugitive, no matter what. Interesting that her sideways didn't change at all.
I still have lots of questions about Walt and his specialness, Rose and Bernard, the ash lines, the polar bear in North Africa, and so on.
Someone please remind me why the Locke Monster can't kill the losties when he can kill everyone else?
I don't think they ever said why. I think he can kill anybody who isn't a candidate. They made a big deal about him not being able to kill Jacob so that's why he made Ben do it.
