Were going to the beach for ten days, but it is NOT a tropical beach; it's an empty, wintertime beach, quiet and perferct for the dogs. I'll check in every day or so.

Everyone stay safe and healthy, and have fun.
Sounds great. I love the Northern CA beaches for the same reason - empty and cold - perfect for bundling up and walking dogs. Where is St. George Island?
Oh, sounds lovely and very relaxing. Have a safe trip!
Sorry to be late.. I hope your having a wonderful vacation. Make sure you get all the sand out of the paws, LOL
Have fun, and Please send us some sunshine, we will need it!
Sorry about the late response. Although I had my laptop with me, the keyboard went out and it would have been a 160 mile round trip just to get it looked at. So I said to heck with that!. Now I'm home where I can use my auxiliary keyboard until I get the laptop fixed.

SGI is in the Florida Panhandle, near Apalachicola.

I lived in Tallahassee for decades -- know exactly where St George Island is! Very lovely place!

From where you are it's still less than a day's drive! It takes us 6 1/2 hours and we don't care. In fact, we stayed an extra day. We're going back again next winter for sure.

Yep! It was a day trip for us -- about two or two and a half hours drive time. We would go there for the helluvit. BTW, did you take drive up to Carrabelle, to see the World's Smallest Police Station? Did you visit Tate's Hell?

I hate that the whole coastal area there is so built-up. I know they call that part of the coast "the REAL Florida", but frankly, it is NOT! The REAL Florida I remember was endless sand roads, squat houses built of cement blocks, and a lot of toothless people who, for about $300/acre, owned the most beautiful and pristine lands in the world.

We always go through Carabelle, but I didn't know anything about the police station. I did visit the world's smallest jail in Australia, though.

We have been kayaking in Tate's Hell a couple of times. It's nothing like my idea of hell, that's for sure.

I know it must SEEM built up, but compared to the Gulf Coast (St Pete-Clearwater all the way down to Naples) or Panama City and points west, it's a complete wilderness. Thank God!

Sounds like heaven to me!

We only took a few because we already have so many, but I don't know how to post them! Every time I try, I am told I can't do it because they're too large, too small, wrong format or whatever.

I'll try one now anyway.

See, I went to "insert image", and it wants a URL, and there's no browse option.
Okay, so now I'm trying it as an attachment.

And there's no attachment.
Eslbee,

There are two steps when adding an attachment. You have to click on 'Browse' and find the photo that you want, and then you have to click on 'Add Attachment' at the right. Hopefully that helps.
Okay, Ziggy, here goes.

It said my file is too large. I don't know how to fix that.
Here are the photos. It looks like a *gorgeous* trip!

I love the 'family photo' as those are some cutie pups! Smile
I love the one of you guys and the dogs!!!

I'm leaving for Florida on Thursday. Don't really have a destination as of yet, but probably Clearwater/Treasure Island on the recommendation of a friend. Another friend I should see Cape Canaveral on the Atlantic side if I get the chance. I'll be driving and stopping along the way, so probably won't stay in one place too long, so I can see more. I plan to camp, so should be fun! I was in the panhandle last year, but I was hoping to get further South this year, maybe even the keys. We shall see!
Many thanks to Ziggy for putting up my photos.

Jo, send me a PM if you think you'll be in the Tampa Bay area.
YAY! Isn't Tampa in the same vicinity as Clearwater? Everything looks so close to everything else on the map... mind you I come from Ontario, where roadtripping across the province takes 30 hours and A LOT of patience. LOL
Yeah, it sort of is. A lot closer, anyway, than Hamilton is! Depending where in Clearwater you are, it's maybe an hour from me.
