I would like to buy DH a pair of speakers for his PC. I would also like to get a pair for my iMac.
I went online, but was quickly overwhelmed by the number of speakers to choose from as well as trying to sift through all of the online reviews.
Any recommendations???

DO you want super duper quality, or just some nice speakers? Because if the latter, the quality of modern speakers is amazing, compared to just 8 years ago. I suggest going some place where you can hear them -- Best Buy, Office Depot, that sort of thing -- and just pick one! There are really good ones that are super cheap.
LogiTech. I've used their products for a decade and found them to be very good. The prices aren't bad either.
I agree with Jo - Bose are the best however, they are not the least expensive speaker you can buy.
I just happened to be in a Future Shop yesterday buying a TV and heard two speakers that had amazing sound out of small speakers.
Try Altec- Lansing and Harmon Cardon.
I do not own these nor do I know anything about speakers.

Yeah, those are the ones I use, too. They're cheap and the quality is excellent. Bose is the gold standard, but they also come with the gold price.

I'm not sure if I want to spend that much though.
Someone was testing the Logitech speakers at Target a couple of weeks ago and they were about half the price of BOSE and they sounded great.
I'll check out best Buy, too.

Best Buy is likely to carry those brands that I mentioned.
Beachbum I suggest you buy "Altec Lansing" Those are the kind of speakers we have. We have had them for over 10 years. They are perfect, and we have had no complaints with them at all.
And I Know they are not as expensive as Bose.
I know Bose is the best, but your right they cost and arm & a leg, lol
Try "Altec Lansing" you will like it for sure!
