I should say curly haired people who are annoyed with their curls. Or I should say even WAVY haired people who are annoyed with their waves. Or even someone with say, an annoying cowlick.
I just discovered the best product EVER! It's called "Rusk Radical AntiCurl" and it's a chemical relaxer. They have 1, 2, and 3, and 1 is recommened for caucasian hair or wavy or otherwise untreated hair (my hair is not colour treated, nor was it very curly). I don't know about 2 or 3. It was just that I've had it cut recently in a cute little shag, but there were a couple of cowlicks and two or three insanely assymetrical curly parts (shut up Paloma... LOLOL) that were SERIOUSLY getting on my nerves. My hair also is much bushier than I wish it was, and I wanted it chemically straightened. Kind of the opposite of those 80s perms... you buy the stuff and get someone to comb it through your hair for 20 minutes. It's quite labour intensive, so you definitely need a friend to do it, and your scalp will hurt at the end from all the combing, but OMG it looks awesome. I'm soooooooooo happy. I have had two awful cowlicks my entire life that are GONE at the moment. I know they will grow back, but for now I'm in awe.
I kinda look like David Cassidy from the 70s, I will definitely need to learn more about styling straight hair (HA) but OMG it looks like I flatironed it all.
Rusk is an awesome brand that I've used before (their conditioner, Calm, is my fave) but I'm a new convert to their relaxers now.
Oh, btw, see my avatar on the left?

That is EXACTLY what my forehead cowlick looked like. LOL But no more!! LOL
Edited to add
this link to a review of the product.

Don't fight it PG! It's like fabricholism. You just have to acknowledge it and give in. The pull is stronger than our collective wills. LOL
Al right then -- don't straighten!!! Embrace your curls and care for them!! Chemicals are bad! You're killing your hair!! AUGH!!!!

I learned to love my wavy/curly hair and find a style that works with no work at all.
No chemicals or appliances in my curly hair's life at all!!!
OT but Jo, what are those round things on the ground next to you in your avatar? Oranges? Nerf balls?
I love my curly locks and work with them. I would never straighten my hair.

The best product for curly hair is Marc Anothy's
"Strictly Curls". Put it in your towel dried hair, scrunch and flip upside down and blow dry with a de-fuser. Viola! Perfect little curls in about three minutes.

LOL Yeah, I actually liked my waves for a while there. It's just they are not consistent over my head. If they were, I'd like them a lot more. I had a major chunk that stuck out on the back on the right side, a major flat part on the back on the left side (that, incidentally, never took curls, not even perms in the 80s). Plus, I'm not in the habit of 'doing' my hair... just letting it air dry. So this just sort of made it all more manageable.
I'm not one to ever 'do' things in the name of appearances... I don't wear make up, I don't pluck my eyebrows, I don't colour my hair... I just thought it would be fun to try this so I didn't wake up every morning annoyed with my hair. I really like this length, and might like to keep it this length (normally I wear it much much longer, which weighs down the waves), but I was struggling with the waves.
BTW, the jury is still out on the cowlicks. This prodcut flattened the front of my hair so flat, that the cowlick in the front is MUCH more pronounced now. LOL! So there you go. I am still playing with it. I love the back, though. Much more consistent.
Pfffft! Fie on this thread!

Which item is it? I see they have a line of products, as usual.
I've been working with my waves/curls because I just can't deal with trying to straighten them anymore. I use Pantene's Smooth shampoo/conditioner combo and BioSilk's Silk Therapy conditioner on top of that (it's expensive, but I buy it at Marshall's for like $5 - and it smells AWESOME). I wash my hair at night, tie it back in a ponytail, sleep on it, and when I wake up in the morning, it's all bouncy and shiny (and sometimes still a little wet - which in that case I'll use some Garnier Fructis shine serum cause my hair frizzes really easily if it's still wet).
I still kinda hate my hair, but I'm just lazy.

It's the Stricly Curls curl defining lotion. It works amazingly well and smells great.
