A kid was running loose in church today... and then stole my offering envelope. I asked her to give it back to me and she started to run, so I grabbed it from her. Her mom is nice and trying to manage 3 kids, I understand, but the other 2 were good as gold and then this one runs loose, but I feel she was old enough to know better than to go into pews and take things from people.

And also recently I was watching a movie at my fiance's apartment and a kid opened the door and walked in...

People tell me they are little kids, but where are their parents?

Wow. I think someone needs to have a quick moment of silence. At least the mom is nice. Is she one that accepts outsider's disapline of her kids? I have some friends at church that the kids are basically told (within reason) obey the adults. So if a grown-up says "no running", they know they should stop.
Unlike the one gal who has three hellion boys. And glared at me every time I told her child not to do something. At a potluck, his empty plate was looking like it would become a frisbee "Honey, you need to not be swinging the plate like that." Glare from the mom and a comment about how they are use to it. (Groovy but we have many elderly in our church and that plate could become a broken hip.) Or when I told one of her boys at coffee time after church not to touch every donut/cookie on the table. He did it three different trips. The fourth trip I mentioned to a friend (who has 3 really good little kids) and she presented the case to the child and walked him to his dad.

Not even close to sure what to say about a child wandering into a stranger's apartment. (This is not TV sitcom land) Of course, I usually keep my door locked, especially when I lived in an apartment.
I am keeping the door locked now for sure. It is supposed to be a very quiet, child-free building, and this kid was visiting its grandmother or something. But it's a strictly child-free building, with only 6 apartments, and most people are gone all day to work or whatever, so I wasn't expecting someone to open the door like that. And a very quiet neighbourhood. Quite a surprise.
