No. I refuse to because they try and pressure you into giving it for free and then they turn around and charge an exorbitant amount to patients who need it.

I was born in Germany. Then we lived there again from 1984-1988. No idea what I ate, but I'm sure a couple cows were at least somewhere in the mix!

I lived in Cambridge, it was the first Santa Barbara City College Cambridge semester abroad. We had 2 SBCC profs and took SBCC classes for credit, also had guest speakers, 3 day weekends every week, many field trips. it was great for a 19 year old. We lived with host families. I am going to visit one of the classmates from that time(she lives in Vermont now)in a few weeks...

From January 1, 1980, through December 31, 1996, you spent (visited or lived) a cumulative time of 3 months or more, in the United Kingdom (UK)
By Dec 31, 1996, I'd already been there over a year.
Yeah, there you go. I was there in 87-88, and in Italy 84-86. Either one is a complete disqualifier.
Yes, I just started to donate regularly last year. My dad has been very sick and needed blood transfusions and most recently an organ donated from a deceased person. I figure donating blood to strangers who need it is the least I can do.
The needle in my arm doesn't hurt all that much. I admit, I don't watch as it goes in. What hurts me the most is pricking my fingertip beforehand! That hurts a lot more!
And no, you don't get paid for this kind of donation. I have heard about places that "buy" blood and plasma, but I am happy to donate.
I have in the past if they come to my work and set up a station but I haven't given in years. I probably should though.
I'm not allowed to because of my health, so no.

I wish I could.. Cause we could get money for donating Plasma too.
But, I can't give Blood or plasma at all due to my veins.
They are too small, and cannot sustain an IV set up.
I asked them to do it in my hand, and they said no!
The people that ran the plasma bank that pays $$ told me so.
Why I have no idea.
I told them they put needles in my hands at the hospital when then need to hook up IV's. But for some oddball reason the Plasma people would not do it.
As for donating blood.. I can't do that either cause of all the medications I am on.
Go figure that is the not same reason for Plasma! I guess both have their own sets of rules.

LOL
I've given blood once before and I almost fainted. I've had small amounts taken for tests but I've never given since. It's not really that I'm afraid, I just don't really like it. Every time I have to give even a little, I can't look at it. If I do, I feel woozy.
