Good idea in theory, but the threshold for removing children is VERY high, and I'm sure the kids are having a minimally good life, if not an ideal life.

Yeah, sorry to burst your bubble. But there are children out there that are being abused in far worse ways than these Duggar brats and they've yet to have been saved. So I don't think you are going to be doing anything with this petition.
I don't care for the Duggars beliefs, media whoredom, and hypocricy; but don't believe they've done anything to warrant a call to CPS.
I remember once talking to a social worker at the school board where I work. She was telling me about a kid whose mother brought him over for the weekend to the baby-daddy. I don't think this guy was much of a father, but did have some visitation. He lived in a bachelor apartment and was either on welfare or really underemployed. I think there was a bed and a couch, so there was a spot for the kid to sleep. And some food in the fridge.

Anyhow, the mother said SEE YA, I found a new guy and I'm moving out west, or something like that. Abandoned the kid with his dad, and social services were called. The father really felt like he could not cope. My friend (the social worker) went over and she said, Look, it's awful that the mother abandoned the kid, but let's face facts. This is really an ideal situation by social work standards. The kid is with a family member who loves him. He's in a safe place, he has a place to sleep and food to eat. Period. Social Services would help the dad get parenting classes or maybe extra welfare, but on the whole, there was no problem as far as they were concerned.

I was gobsmacked. I thought a mother abandoning their kid was just and AWFUL scenario, but she assured me there are HORRIBLE scenarios she could describe but that sure as hell wasn't one of them. I had to agree.

Whatever I might think of the Duggars, those kids are fed and clothed and loved. Full stop.
