I have been wanting to go this party ever since I first heard about this house in 2004:
http://munstermansion.com/main.html

It is a life-size replica of the Munster's house from the TV show. Every Halloween weekend, the couple who lives there opens up their home for a huge charity party. This year's special guest is Pat Priest who played Marilyn on the show.

DH and I are going to go on Saturday night, October 31. I am in the process of getting a hotel room at the closest Holiday Inn.

If anyone would like to join us, let me know!
FYI: This year's charity is Meals on Wheels. I love that it's not specifically a children's charity, like every other benefit event seems to be.
A haunted restaurant nearby for lunch or dinner:

OMG that sounds AWESOME!!!! Any idea how much it will cost?
Email from the owner about hotels:

"The Holiday Inn Express and the Sleep Inn are both about 2 or 3 miles from here.
They are both nice hotels. I use the Sleep Inn for Pat Priest(Marilyn Munster) when
she comes. Sleep Inn's number is 972-938-1600. I think it is choicehotels.com"

WW, I'm not sure of the price for the party yet. I can look on the site and see if they listed the cost of the 2007 party.

That sounds fun! Too bad about the bounce houses. But hopefully the kids will leave early!
I just booked my room at the Holiday Inn Express in Waxahachie. It's more expensive than the Sleep Inn, but I have all my hotel points at Holiday Inn.
So cool!
I wish I could go.
Growing up, I was totally hooked on The Munsters! Bat Bat
That sounds like a great trip... I hope you enjoy it! If you can, please take some pictures! They seem to be doing a really good job of it, and if it starts at 7pm then they (hopefully) won't have a huge number of kids. I think that if you went on the 30th it would be pretty bad, but on that actual night I would expect that most kids will be dressed up and running around their neighbourhoods collecting candies.

I'm going to be in south-eastern North Carolina for work during that time... I hadn't realised that I would be there for Halloween and now I'm just trying to imagine what we'll be up to on that day. I'm going to guess that I'll be out in the middle of a field, working, and now I'm going to have to plan for something fun. Maybe I'll bring a bunch of chocolates for my coworkers and a costume. Ooooh.... just thinking about the possibilities is keeping me amused!

I hope you are right, but unfortunately the new trend the last few years is that they go trick-or-treating in the afternoon and early evening before sunset. It's not like when we were kids...

I wanna go in the bounce house!!!!! Crybaby2
Sounds so fun!! Please take pictures. I'd like to see them. I wished DH and I could go.
We're in. Smile
Yay!!!

BTW, I just found out that a women's B&B meetup I belong to is going the same weekend. But for some reason they're doing a Munster Mansion tour during the day instead of the party. But they are doing lunch at the Catfish Plantation that Saturday, so I'll probably join them for that.
I booked us at the Sleep Inn this morning. WW, are you and J going to make it? CFScorp, is Ayn coming?
Jason and I are totally coming. And believe me, pictures will be taken! We probably won't stay overnight since it's only three hours from Austin, but we will definitely go for the evening. We always look for something fun to do out of the house on Halloween in order to avoid trick-or-treaters, and this fits the bill perfectly.
YAYY!!!! It's a minipalooza! Ayn actually runs that women's B&B group, but it's another friend of ours named Lisa who is organizing the excursion. I'm not sure yet if Ayn is going. I hope she does though!
Yes, Ayn is coming! I just checked.

ETA: Ayn and Lisa are both in my No Kidding! chapter, so it's sort of like a CF event, except for the random kids who'll be running around at the party!
I'm afraid we're not going to be able to make it after all. We had some unexpected vet expenses this month (dog needed a sample taken from a mysterious lump, cat got a bladder infection) and we've got a elopement vacation coming up, so we're just going to stay home for Halloween this year. Sorry.
We are still coming. Sorry things are adding up so quickly, WW!
