Have you ever purchased anything that you saw on an infomercial? If so, what was it? Did you like it? Did you use it? Was it as good as the ad suggested?
I bought a Magic Bullet after I saw it on TV. We mainly use it for grinding up cheese but if you want to pulverize anything, it's good for that. Overall I am very satisfied with it and it stays on my counter plugged in at all times.

I mostly buy AS SEEN ON TV items from Walmart. My overall reaction is that they are not as good as they seem but there are some gems in the rough.

I LOVE Space Bags. And the Green bags that keep veggies fresher longer really do work.

In my experience though, what I would recommend is do a google search for the item you are looking for and add "reviews" at the end of your search. (Like "Magic Bullet reviews") You can usually find a few sites that have reviewed the item and will give you honest opinions.

Edited to add: Try this website... http://www.as-seen-on-tv-reviews.net/
I agree with Space Bags (mine end up looking lumpy not smooth, but they do the job!) green bags, my mom sent they seem to help. Also, you can go to Amazon, or Epinions is a good one, to get reviews of products as well. That is what I usually do before buying.
We have gotten a couple things. One was some spray that made mold and mildew disappear off the ceilings near the HVAC vents.
Those green veggie bags totally work. My mom gave me a coupe of them and I could not believe how long my celery lasted!
LOL apparently I'm addicted to 'as seen on teevee' stuff. Most everything you guys have mentioned, I have plus tons more. The space bags (didn't really care for them), green veggie bags (yes, they are that amazing!), Magic Bullet (love it), Magic putty (it's that good, yes), H2O steam mop (love it), Foodsaver sealer (didn't care for it, didn't use it much), Slicer/Dicer, Astonish, squeegie... geez the list goes on.

Once I was at my sister's house watching teevee and some ad came on for a big convection oven thingy that you could roast a turkey in. By about minute five, I was CONVINCED I needed it. Am was cracking me up saying "You don't eat meat! You don't need a meat oven!" and I had to admit she was right, but I am a sucker for these things. LOL
Oh I got dryer balls. I think they have them in the US but I got mine here in the UK and I didn't care for them at all.
I never see informercials. I don't even know when they are on - late at night? When you don't have cable and you go to bed early you miss this stuff! Smile
I bought that Ionic Breeze thingy that suppose to make the air better and cleaner. I figured it would help me with my sneezes and allergies.
It did not do shit, lol
Thankfully I did NOT buy at at Sharper Image. But the end result is the same It did not do shit for the air. And Now all it is, is
a giant Clothes hook, lol
AND AN Expensive one to boot Sad
So never again will I watch an Infomercial. Or buy anything from one!

We bought some super-duper car waxing kit, but it did no better than good ol' Turtle Wax.

We ALMOST bought that miracle stick thingy that is supposed to hide car scratches, but we looked it up on the 'net first. Apparently, it (the tool) dries out in seconds, so you pretty much get one tiny application, and that's it.

We bought that horrible plastic veggie slicer (mandolin), but it snapped on the first use with a potato.

I'm sure we've bought more -- DH is a sucker, especially for the "get rich quick" stuff. Even though I have thoroughly debunked those "no money down" real estate things, he always asks me if I'm SURE it's no good, after seeing a commercial for it. YES I'M SURE! I looked it up on the 'net!
Add me to the list of those who bought the Magic Bullet & love it! It is great for scrambled eggs. I also bought one of those wand things that you clean the inside of your windshield with. I got it at Walmart. I love it, too! I'm short & have trouble getting the bottom corners, especially if I'm sitting in the driver's seat and the steering wheel is in the way. Now I can nearly do the whole windshield from one seat.

I just wanted to quote this because every guy likes nice dry balls.
Criminy! I almost forgot the TweezE! This is the best way to go after facial hair EVER. And it comes with a gel that inhibits growth, too. I have never plucked a hair in my life. I would use tiny scissors or nippers (which are really for cuticles) to nab them. This thing, you can't even feel it, it lasts a long time, and no hard nubs.
I bought Space Bags but they were terrible. The bags don't stay shut, so they're useless.

My dad bought one of those GT Express dealies (it's a cooking tool), and they sent him four instead of one, so everyone in my family got one. They suck, too. The cooking wells are MUCH smaller than they appear on tv - you can barely fit anything in them! So I don't use it.

I also bought an AirClimber, and I love that thing! I get very sore from it, but I get very sore whenever I try to do anything, so it's not the product's fault. XD
I have often thought about the Magic Bullet - only because of the line about "Bob's your uncle" cracks me up.

Tried the green bags and agree that they are fantastic.

A few years ago, DH got a wild hair to order the exercise equipement that Chuck Norris hawks. Spent something like $1000 on it. Without telling me. That was terribly expensive way to figure out not to order crap without telling the wife. When I shipped it back, my mailroom guy said it was like a dead body was in it. Since I was still pissed at DH, I told mailroom guy that it wasn't a bad notion.
I also like the Magic Bullet. It's been really useful for smoothies, making breadcrumbs, grating cheese, etc. I've used it quite often.

I still use my Foreman Grill a lot too (it started out as a TV product) and have gone through a few of them over the years.

I had the Vidalia Chop Wizard thing for a while. It's the one that is kind of oblong shaped and you put your onions (or whatever) in, then close the lid down on it and it goes through a metal cutter to make either a small or medium dice. I used it quite a bit when I would make soups and things. Eventually I stopped using it because I got better knives and it was just as easy to do it myself once I had a quality knife. But I would recommend it to others.

I can't think of any other items from TV that I've tried, but I'm sure there are more.

ETA: Oh! I forgot about Oxy Clean! That one is really great too, and I use it often to get out stains and stuff.

I am amazed at how many people watch infomercials! How can you stand it?

CNK -- some of them are interesting. I like watching the kitchen gadgets ones when I'm bored.

I've never watched a full-on 30 minute informercial before. If there's one on, I'm changing the channel quickly.

But I've seen the shorter 30 second or one minute direct response television advertisements (not to be confused with the 30 minute infomercials) selling stuff like Space Bags and we've bought those. Space Bags are great and have always worked very well. We don't order them from the DRTV ads, instead we'll get them at places like Bed Bath & Beyond.
Oh, I don't watch those really long things. I just mean the things advertised in a normal-length commercial that you have to send away for. "Not sold in stores!"
