Paloma told me she got new boots from LLBean and that got me to thinking about boots and fall... and fall fashion.

OK, I know hardly anyone here is into fashion but who can deny the allure of a new pair of boots!!

Has anyone checked out the boots that are out for fall - they look exactly like what we wore in the 80s!! I was at DSW and saw a pair of gray slouch ankle boots - I had a pair in the 80s that I nearly wore out. LOVED those boots! I can't believe I can buy and wear them again. Between those and my skinny jeans it's like reliving 1982. Smile Minus the hair and the shoulder pads.

Anyone else boot shopping for fall yet?

PrairieGirl

Boots?? 80s boots? There was a pair from the 80s my sister and I both loved, and both thought looked wonderful on us. I've got to find them!
Alas, it's way too hot for boots here. I own several pairs but hardly ever get to wear them. We don't really have a fall here.
I hate boots. Not too crazy about shoes, either.
80's styles are back!

I can't remember if I mentioned it on this board or another, but I was in Old Navy and all of the fashions brought me back to the 80's. (They even had all of the popular 80's music piped over the store)

I saw, for example:
Argyle sweaters
Oxford cloth button down shirts
Baseball shirts
Cowl Neck sweaters
Polo shirts
Bright, solid colored sweatshirts (I use to wear these Sweatshirts from Danial Hechter (sp) all of the time in the 80's.

I see LLBean has the Rubber Mocs (we use to call the Duck boots). I also had a pair of slouch boots in the 80's. I bet Sperry Topsiders will be back, too, lol!

Now, if the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle comes into style, I will be set! It is the one style I can actually do by myself and look good.
Cowl neck sweaters!!! LOVE them! Baseball shirts - another love.

These fashions are so fun - I'll be an early adopter. Flashbacks to high school.

I wish I still had those gray boots! I'll have to shell out $40 to replace them.
Do faux-fur flip-flops count? (You know I'm just pulling your chain, right?)
Other than a pair of Lady Frye western boots in the 80s, I have never owned nor worn boots - my calfs are too thick for them.
Do you mean "Peter Pan Getaway Boots"? I always wanted a pair of those but could never afford them. Besides, they seem a bit impractical for our Southern Ontario winters.
The only boots I care about are Dr Marten's.
Yeah, these boots are pretty much for indoors only in winter. But they are very wearable in the fall, even in the northeast.

I'm drooling over so many pairs of boots right now I can't choose. Both high and low boots are in. I was in NYC over a year ago and every woman had on boots. (Well, almost every woman.) So, finally, a year later, they are migrating up here, too. Smile
Oh man, in 1987 I had the ugliest pair of boots from JC Penny. They were black vinyl, slouched, with "silver" bumper things on the toes and more silvery nail studs around the top. And faux snakeskin may have been involved.
I would never pay money for those things again.
I much prefer my new LL Bean boots: tall, straight sides, brown suede (not vinyl!).

Also saw button down sweater cardigans and bat-wing sweaters. Also, the drop-waist tops.

I LOVE the 80's styles, but I have gained so much weight that I would look ridiculous in them, IMO. I am beating myself up for all of my weight gain. I would kill to be able to wear the styles right now, lol!
My Cat just said "what do you want?" LOL
For a second I thought you new something more about my baby then I did.... LOL
As for REAL Boots. Sadly the only kind of Boots I am allowed to wear is
From "New Balance"

http://www.newbalance.com/outdoor/countrywalking/MW955/

They look something like this, only cut a lot higher for winter wear.
And of course my braces have to fit inside.
So, I wish I could chat about high fashion when it comes to boots.
But the only Boots, I care about is my baby boy Happycat
