I've noticed the oddest thing lately.

6 of my Facebook friends have young children with a similar name, only 2 of them know each other or even live in the same state.

One is a 3-year-old girl named Findley, they call her Finn
One is a newborn boy named Finnegan, they all him Finn
One is a boy named Finney, called Finn
One is a 1st grade girl named Fynn
and the other 2 are toddler boys named Finn

Finn is the most gawdawful name ever, not only does it sound terrible but it looks ugly written out.
Bring back Maddison please. Alien
I have only seen it used once... with a friend's long-haired cat. It suited him, but that list you have is ridiculous! At the very least I wish they had stuck with the original name: Finnegan.
I only know of Finn from the Goldfish Crackers. The one Goldfish Cracker, the cheddar one I think is Finn. The Parmesean one is Brooke, the Pretzel is Gilbert and the Xtreme Cheddar, is well Xtreme. Think they kinda dropped the creative ball on that one. Sorry I have too much time on my hands.

Otherwise I know of someone with a cute Lab dog known as Finn. Otherwise yeah tarded name. I'm tired of Aiden and Addison and Maddison myself. Oh someone is naming their kid Jedison. Have any of you heard that? He's gonna get called Jed, I hope they know that. Either that or they love Star Wars.
Could be worse I guess. My brother and his wife think they're having a boy, and are leaning toward Lazarus.

I feel for that poor kid...I hope they at least pick a normal middle name for him. (Or change their minds on the first name!)

Lazarus??? He rose from the dead? Poor kid....

LOL at Maddison. I thought my niece was nuts to misspell her daughter's name with the double-D, but apparently it's popular to do so.
I wish that they would go back to the old names (And because they are over 2-3 generations old, no funky spelling needed to make the kid stand out).
Iona, Leona, Iowa, Imogene...
My mom is into genelogy so I really enjoy some of the older names.

Besides, isn't Finn (or Fynn) part of Irish history. Something like the last Fairy King or something?
Iowa? I never heard of that as someone's name... cool.
I like Lazarus but not an everyday kid name. Maybe for a fiction book or something...

Well, every name they like (or that my brother likes anyway) seems to have come from either Heinlein or Pratchett books, so you're not wrong. lol!

I think Finn is nice. I hate boring and tired overused names like John and Jim and Jane, etc. I have no problem at all with cool names from the past (Barnabas, Imogene, Isadore, etc). I would hate it if someone told me I was only allowed to name my fur kids plain old overused names like Fido, Fluffy, Rex and Rover, and I have no other choice just because.
Finn? WTF? The Finn Family Moomintroll is the first thing I think of.

Yikes! Haven't heard that one yet.

LOL! When I go out for my walks, I always run into a Nanny taking Finnegan (baby boy-7 months) for an outing in the stroller.
I have to say, the baby is so cute!
This Nanny is a live-in Nanny. She said moo and dudh are always gone.

Sad, isn't it.
I asked my preg friend not to name her child something trendy like Madison. At least it will be named Bridget.
I wonder if this is a result of Julia Roberts naming her son Phinnaeus? It seems that celebrity babies are all the rage nowadays.

I knew a man named Michael Finnegan
He had 2 hairs on his chin-again
They fell out and then grew in again
Poor ol' Michael Finnegan
Begin again!

*Sorry, former camp counselor here. Stupid songs from camp can pop back in my head at any moment...
Sharon - I had forgotten that song from camp. LOL I have the same issues, much to my DH's horror.

Vannesa - Actually, I think Iowa was one of the first babies born after Iowa became a state. She actually only lived until she was 10 or something. Mother has 2 pictures of her and a poem someone wrote for her funeral. Actually fairly cool.
At least being named after a character of a book can explain alot to people. (My mom almost named my after two characters in a children's book she loved.)
I have said this before, but I HATE the name Madison for a girl. Madison means "son of Matthew". What kind of name is that for a girl? Or even for a boy whose father's name is not Matthew.

Really? For some odd reason I had the idea it meant "son of Maud." Not that it's any improvement.
Finn is a character on Law and Order SVU. They call him that because his real name is too hard to pronounce. I wouldn't have thought of it for a child's name.
I stand corrected (via Facebook) one of the boys is named Fin, NOT Finn.
