Out of the clear blue sky, my husbands only brother invited us to his house for a 4th of July BBQ!
I am in shock! This man has never invited us to anything ever for the past how many years I have known him.
And now all of a sudden he is inviting us over??
I am floored.
I am looking fwd to it though. I do like my BIL. He is a computer nerd and very friendly.
Him & my husband always have a good time.
I guess the man is starting to mellow out in his old age and realizes he misses his baby brother, lol
At least I will be able to get some more good Pix of My Great Niece
Dakoda who turned 5 this past May.
Wow kids do grow up fast!
Since we don't have much money all I can do is make some deviled eggs and bring over. My BIL loves them.
So what are your plans for the 4th?
Do you all do the big fireworks? or no?
We don't need to go anywhere for fireworks. Our backyard neighbors
have that act going on every night from 6/23 on past July 4th, (sigh)
Its not the noise so much that we mind, Its the danger. Them GD bottle rockets! We hate them! I hate that make their way over to our backyard and almost took out our brand new A/C unit last year.
So, if anything bad happens to us this year, I will call the police!
Either that or get my own cannon Cannon LOL Now that is the way
to blow some firepower! LOL

But anyway... I hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July
And have a fun time too.
Hug to Everyone in WKYN! Grouphug
I'm going to a neighborhood BBQ and Fireworks, which might be OK even if it is breeder central. I just don't want to sit at home alone while I know everyone else, family back home, all my friends, etc are out having fun. I get tired of sitting at home. Plus the food should be good. We usually don't do much, and there's still a chance that DH will have to work, so who knows.

TW hope yours goes alright.
I am off work friday at the office job, but working that night in retail. And working saturday in retail all day. Sunday I have off, so housework and laundry. Just another weekend to me.
We're going to spend the afternoon with a couple of friends who are getting married at their house. Smile
I think we're the only ones who will be there for it, but I'm not sure. We'll just be hanging out and cooking out afterward.
DH and I are heading up to his parents' lake house tomorrow morning (hmm, I guess make that *this* morning, haha) and staying until Saturday evening. Swimming, boat rides, cooking out, fireworks over the lake, and best of all, NO KIDS!!! :-D SIL, BIL, and nephew/niece (ages 2 and 1!! aaahhhhhh!!!) have other plans out of town. I love them all dearly, but those kids are a freakin' HANDFUL. And not having to deal with all the fucking people/chaos at fireworks in my city will be lovely too.
Have to go visit the in-laws for an hour.
Then we are going to my aunt's house for dinner and hanging out. Not looking forward to dealing with my grandmother, but oh well. I plan to have fun despite her trying to ruin it for everyone.
I'm grading papers. DH is outside cutting brush for our city collection day Monday. It's certainly not the most exciting day, but at least we are all together. It is over 100 degrees Fahrenheit here and has been that way every day for weeks now, so outside activities are not exactly the first thing I'd want to do. I do, however, miss summers in St. Louis. The city holds a big fair there every year with live music and spectacular fireworks. ID4 is more low-key here, sort of like the old-time family picnic celebrations smaller towns have.
