Jo, I LOVE this quilt. I think it manages to look better in person, but I immediately thought of you when I saw it both due to content and the fact that you love quilting:
It matches her Maple Leaf sari!
HAHA I mailed all that fabric to Paloma and got her even more. She likes to quilt!! YOU HOU PALOUMA!! (Canadians add extraneous Us all the time. LOL) She should totally make this!!

That's EXACTLY my Captain Canada sari fabric!!! Gorgeous use of it.
That's hilarious, I'd forgotten about the sari!

You can't see it in the photo, but the label on it says that it was made by the Ottawa Valley quilters. It was hanging on one of the walls at work, in a very prominent location because who can blame them?!
I'll get right to work on it. Maple leaves have 5 points right? Or is that marijuana?

LOL I don't know about Maple leaves but your dead right about the other leaf, lol
So I have been told Wink
A Canadian educational moment:

Maple leaves have 11 points, with each representing a province (we have 10 provinces) and the last point represents all territories.

Obviously the leaf was around before the provinces and territories, but it does allow me to remember how it works. Essentially there are three groups of three points (one up top, and two either side) and two right at the bottom.

Far more than you wanted to know, I'm sure, but I'll take any opportunity to push my Canadiana!

OT: Thanks Ziggy That was very interesting indeed. My MIL was just up in Canada. She was at the Caesars Casino and had some very good luck indeed. I always enjoy visiting Canada. But with the new passport laws coming into play this June, we might not be able to anymore sad to say.
