If I was, I would have gone for the position years ago.. I hate playing nurse to the sick.
But what can I do? I am stuck.. And guess who is the paitent? LOL

Yep he has the flu big time.
It started Tues. The day he went to the Dr's office to get some blood work done. He feels he may have touched something that someone else there was there sicker then a dog. And then, as Tues turned into evening he had chills, shakes, tummy ache, and thought he was going to die. He has had the runs non-stop since then. But of course the idiot won't go to the hospital for a much needed I.V
So, he has lost 23 pounds in 3 days. But for him, he could lose 100 pounds in 3 days and he would still be fine, lol. But, anyway, he is sticking it out. And refuses to get medical help. He says "what is the Dr going to tell him? Go home and get rest and drink fluids?" That is what he has been trying to do, lol

Anyway, ITMT yours truly has been waiting on him hand & foot.
Making him hot tea, bringing his meals to his bed, checking his temp,& all the while risking myself to his germs. TG I did get a flu shot this year. ( he did not)
So I am hoping it will protect me from this. And of course I have been washing my hands every 10 min.
But other then that, all is well, lol....NOT!
No, I just came here to bitch about how I hate it when "My rock" is sick. He looks like such a pittiful little puppy, lol When is is sick, I am sick, in my head that is.. He makes me nuts, lol. And I just hate it!
I want him to get over this already.
Has anyone else gotten the flu this year?
If so how long did it last for you?

And as My title says, I am not cut out to be a nurse. A nurses life is a tough one and that is not me! Fetch me this, and bring me that.
I want to say Fuck you and get it yourself, but I know that can't happen.
So, I guess maybe THAT is why people have kids.. To make little servents out of them.
I was one my whole childhood. Which is why I cannot stand doing it now. But, hey I guess that is the only thing I am good at.
I can't fight it, so, I might as well join it.

And it is worse when they themselves are in the medical profession. As DH is.

Actually, he isn't normally bad. He normally doesn't want people hovering. But this season has been bad. He has had a cold that lasted forever, then one day well and the flu bug hit. After getting over that he had about a week of okay and then caught another cold.

So yeah. The main issue with DH is that he is getting tired of "sick" food.

Make sure that you are also getting enough rest and getting your vitamins and orange juice taken.

I hope Bob gets well soon so things can back to usual. I don't know how long it lasts.

beg to differ there, when i am sick, the last thing i want is for anyone to be near me, because i dont want to pass it on, and i always prefer to take care of myself. I feel guilty if someone tries wait on me just because i have a bug.

maybe i am the exception to the rule, but not all men are like that.

ITA with Arkved on that one. I have lived alone for a good many years and when I get sick, I've had to take care of myself. When I get sick I prefer not to have someone around because I hope I would not give the other person what I had.

It would be nice to be waited on if I do get sick, though. I would take someone up on that if they offered to.

When I am sick, I also prefer to be totally alone.
It is too much strain when you just want quiet and sleep to have someone else around making noise and often wanting some kind of positive social interaction.
This is one of the main reasons that I live alone while having many chronic illnesses.
I can only summon it up to be socially active when I am doing really well and just want to be left the h*ll alone when I am not.

LOL Well I wish My Bob was more like Tommy & Joe cause....... YEP I caught it.....
I have been sooooooooo sick.
I never before have been as sick,as have been this past few days.
I just now am trying to keep something down.

The good news is getting sick helped stretch my NS food supply to a later date. I have not eaten a thing in 3 days.
Except for a few crackers.
And of course I don't recommend this way of a weight loss plan.
But I did manage to lose 7 more pounds
So My new total is 57 pounds down!
I just wish my tummy would let me enjoy that fact more.
I just feel like crap. THANKS Hubby DEAR.......NOT!!!!!!! LOL

Edit: All get well hugs will be much obligied. I hate being this sick.

I too am still trying to get over this damn bug, and with it came a plugged ear that hasnt unplugged in a few days and is driving me nuts. doctor told me to take some OTC decongestants to see if they help. so am taking those now, and he said OTC Afrin might help also. If the decongestant does help soon im gonna be trying the Afrin.

back at ya. Yes, ITA, being sick does suck.
The only break I am getting is from my allergies. Why I have no idea.
Have you tried OTC Sudefed? The one for cold & flu should help more
Cause it sounds like you might have it all, lol
ITMT My tummy is still sore as hell. I wonder how long it takes for tummy muscles to heal?
The good news is I was able to keep a bananna down.
I might get lucky and have some rice for dinner, yum. lol

My DH is a total baby when he is sick.
He loves to be waited on and fussed about and to be perfectly honest, I love fussing over him!
I make him hot Matzo Ball soup, serve hot tea, run a hot bath, rub his back, get him fresh OJ, etc..............He is spoiled for sure.

Beachbum your hubby is one lucky dude.. Hmmmmm Matzo Ball soup.
I have not had that in a dogs age, lol
Anyway, I am much better today. Although I did manage to sprain my diaphragm muscle. So I am taking some Motrin for that and it seems to be helping
TG Hubby is all healed up too. So I need not play nurse to him anytime soon either, lol
But feel free to come here and play nurse to us anytime, we would love it, lol
