He likes the background noise, and every time I come home or downstairs when he's been alone, the TV is on even if he is not watching it. His parents are the same way, so I suppose that is how he was raised.
This is also a pet peeve of mine. On the holidays the football game was always on. I hated that. Can't you live for one hour without the tv? It's also why I hate sports bars with a passion. I'm here because I want to interact with live human beings, not watch some tv display. Turn off the damn tv for one hour! You won't die.
