I think Eva is dying.

My sweet little piggie. *cries* She's not herself, she's barely eating, and she just lays in her own pee because she's too tired to move. I'm not terribly shocked - guinea pigs live about 4-6 years, and she's 8 - but it's still depressing as hell. I can't hold her enough!
Praline has returned to her old self, though.
I HATE menu planning and grocery list making. I do it so we don't go out every evening and so my grocery bill isn't crazy. (I save about 20 bucks a week just on groceries compared to some friends who never have a list let alone a plan for the week.)
But right now I am SO sick of it and I don't want to do it any more.

Aww I'm so sorry! Piggies are cute. I suppose if she's outlived her life span that is good butI guess it is doubtful she will fully recover? I don't know because I've never had piggies and don't know much about them. Give her a kiss for me.

Me too! When I was single and worked odd hours I usually ate at work, then just had a sandwich for dinner. Even know I'd live on ramen, cereal, sandwiches, etc but DH likes full meals and he works pretty hard so he needs decent food. Also I'm trying to eat more healthy and more rounded meals so I don't snack as much. I hate trying to come up with food ideas. It just gets old doing this EVERY day EVERY week all the time. Hardly ever a break. UGH!

Poor Eva. But 8 years is a wonderful life span for a piggie. You must be a great guinea pig mother.

Nadleeh - I'm so sorry to hear about your piggie.
gingerzing - several magazines/websites like woman's day and taste of home offer pages & emails for menu planning and pre-done lists. The ones for taste of home are really great. maybe you could copy one of theirs?
Nadleeh, my puppies and I are thinking of you and Eva. W're glad she lived such a long, happy life with you. I bet there are lots of happy guinea pigs at the Rainbow Bridge for whenever she may go there.
Nadleeh, I am so happy to hear that Praline has returned to her old self....but I am soooo sad for poor little Eva.
((((hugs to all)))))
Thank you, everyone. Sadly, I had to have Eva put down today. She had a stroke that ended up paralyzing her back legs and blinding her. She was so terrified and was suffering so much. We couldn't let her go like that. That's one thing about guinea pigs - they do not go gracefully. They suffer. A lot.
We took her to the vet and she was put down. I almost lost it when she got the first shot. She was so scared and squealed and tried to run on those back legs that couldn't move.
But she's with Zsa Zsa now and is sucking lettuce juice off her chin. RIP, sweet Eva.
Poor piggie, but not any more. She's free! And how happy she and Zsa Zsa must be together again.
How sad, Nadleeh. I have a couple of friends who lost their piggies just recently, and they suffered, too. Life is very cruel most of the time.

My sympathies.
I'm sorry to hear that Nadleeh. Thank goodness she is no longer suffering though. ((((HUGS))))
Oh, Nadleeh. I'm so sorry for your loss. You did a very compassionate thing, though.
It's never easy. Never.
*big hugs*

Nadleeh. I am so sorry about your piggie.
Nadleeh, I'm very sorry for you loss.
They are working on the roof on my building. And lucky me, they are working directly over my department today. The sounds of Godzilla stomping through Tokoyo, songs of the Humpback whale, and a large dentist chair to get me through my day. Lucky girl.
I'm supposed to bellydance in a show in one hour and my cramps JUST started. I am bloated like a preggo and my back and stomach are killing me.
Yesterday's property tax protest hearing was a disaster, as my facebook friends already know. I just talked to an attorney who charges $150/hour. Is it worth it? I don't know...

CFS, I hope things improve for you!
