DH is stuck on third shift this week.
Which means he starts work at 7PM and does not get home till 8AM
I won't see him for a whole week. I really hate his new job.

*Last night we had a catered meal from one of the finalist of the National Taste. In fact, it was the basic same meal that got him into the finals. But this guy decided that all but the salad was "crap".

I've got an interview for a part-time, evening job at Kohl's to help supplement my income. We were chatting about what I think they might offer to pay, etc., which led the conversation toward minimum wage. She and her husband own a franchise coffee shop, so any time anything business related comes up she's constantly whining about HOW HARD it is owning a business. Well what did you expect sweetheart? You'd buy it and it would run and pay for itself?! So we go into a minor argument about minumum wage ($7.15 here in MI, going up to $7.40 in July), and she seems to think that the only people who work minumum wage jobs are people who don't really need to work or that are college and high school kids, etc. WHAT?!
It just frustrates me, because there's no actual discussion with this woman. She thinks what she thinks and if you don't think the same thing then you're flat out wrong. People like that drive me nuts.
Ug. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you....just had to gripe about it a bit.

Vanessa -- it's not just her, it's a LOT of people, especially people who make policy. They truly believe that the only people who make minimum wage are people just entering the workforce, or people who only need a few extra bucks. That's the main reason why it's been so hard to get the minimum wage raised to a living wage (and the current raises won't do it, either -- we really need to be talking $10/hr at minimum).
Some moo who couldn't be bothered to control her brood let them run out in traffic (during RUSH HOUR), and guess who came within inches of hitting one of them??!! *screams* The worst part is that if I would have hit it, I would be the one going to jail! Thank you, fucked up Pennsylvania laws!

I've worked for the municipal elections for 3 days and the pay is going to be good, but there's a catch. It's going to take 4 to 6 weeks before I'm going to be payed. It's worst than a postal rebate.
I did not get the part-time job of 5-6 hours a day. Dammit, I really could have used that income vs. the 2.5 hours a day at the f'ing day care center! I hate it.
My husband left today for his 3 month deployment to Asia.
We've never been apart longer than 3 weeks, so this will suck. On top of that, there's always the possibility he'll get home at the end of the summer only to be told to pack up and get ready to go to Iraq for a year.
When we met, his career track was such that he would never be away for more than 2 weeks at a time, so I thought that was pretty great, I was safe from him having to go on those long deployments. But they changed a bunch of stuff in the Navy a few years ago and his career track was derailed, and he's now in a job that's meant for a person 2 ranks below his, and he's an aviator but hasn't been able to fly in 3 years. So now there's this long deployment and a total uncertainty of what's going to happen when he gets back. And it sucks.

I just have a lousy ear ache. But thankfully I have some drops for it.

I feel like I've been running on empty lately.
First it's the shit with the ex though I'm trying to take my mind off of that.
Next, I've been working like a dog and wish I had just two days to myself to unwind.
Then, I missed the deadline for my tuition payment plan so I had to pay my entire summer tuition ($1300) out of pocket.
My car was also booted this week because I was parked more than 2 hours in a parking permit zone without a parking permit. $110 to take the boot off plus a $42 ticket for the violation.
I've been told yet again to just hang in there because a job might appear on the horizon. Yeah right. I'll just hold my breath. I hate temping so much. It's the modern form of slavery.

My PAM is that, as I suspected, they are planning to hire someone to take part of my work at my job, which will lead to a decrease in my responsibilities. So now it's back to job hunting and MAJOR life upheaval on the horizon - changing jobs means moving and uprooting yet again.

I'm irritated because I am still headachey and I keep feeling like crap for various reasons. I just want a few days of feeling good, dammit! Also, it's going to be like 85 F today, and I'm not ready for HOT. Finally, I have a crapload of work to do at work, and I don't wanna do any of it. Sigh. I need a new attitude.
It doesn't rain it pours. The apartment above mine has been vacant for about 2 years. I just got a call from my landlord that someone is moving in. It's a potential nightmare because we share a back yard and porch. I've already got one neighbor who seems to BBQ every night - all I need is one more. The yard is about 15'x15' and faces my bedroom. If I get a new upstairs neighbor who likes to sit out on the porch at night and smoke or has kids, etc. I'm completely screwed.
If only I could move... the way housing prices have gone locally I'll take a $200/month hit if I have to move. And my raise this year won't even pay for my increased fuel/food costs...
My old neighbors weren't too bad - they went to bed early - sometimes the kids would play really loud music or their dog would bark incessantly when they weren't home... but it wasn't awful. This neighborhood is so bad, though, that it's anybody's guess who could be moving in.
