Yet another Philly cop got killed in the line of duty last night. This is the fifth one in a year. It's such bullshit. The interviews with his co-workers are freakin' heartbreaking to watch. Sad Doesn't anyone in this city have anything better to do than kill people???

And it's supposed to snow. NO SNOW, GO AWAY SNOW.
That's a damned shame. Sad
My good friend/guy I've been seeing left town and may not be back. Sad

Are you listening to her when she chats? Or are you the type of man that just goes uh uh uh uh at everything she says?
If that is the case that would explain the cold shoulder..
But if you do listen to her, then you will know what she likes by now.
Try surprising her with something she likes. It will prove to her that you do listen.. You know get her a cup of coffee the way she likes it.
Or tea or soda or whatever.. Something that she mentioned she is into.
Well Goodluck Joe. And hang in there.

HH: I am so sorry about your new special friend leaving town Hug
Were you ever told? Or was this out of "left field"?
Either way I hope you get to see him someday soon.

My PAM is that WINTER is EARLY here in OHIO
We have had loads of snow the past few days.
Thanfully more on the east side then west side.
But now it is snowing today here on the west side of town, where I live. And I am not happy about winter being so damn early.
Don't talk to me about global warming till you have lived a winter here in Cleveland Ohio,Angryfire
Kaiser just got back to me. I emailed them TWO DAYS ago! They said that I have to call Appointment Services to get a sign language interpreter for D when I go to the doctor tomorrow. Fine. They said I had to do it 48 HOUR BEFORE my appointment. Well, if they'd gotten back to me YESTERDAY, I could have done that!

Asses.

Oh Jen I am so sorry Hug Please don't even get me started about the assholes at Kaiser.. They about ruined my life with a botched surgery (long story)Angryfire But thankfully we do not have Kasier as our insurance plan anymore.
Wow. That happened to a friend of mine, too. Sad I think if I end up needing surgery I'll go out of plan. Wink

It gets worse: D told me to call Kaiser anyway to try and get an interpreter, so I did. They will not give us one, EVEN THOUGH HE IS ALSO A KAISER MEMBER, becuase the appointment is not FOR HIM. Nice.

I posted to our local barter list to see if we can find one, but he says he's OK with our doctor--he can understand him.

Bad, bad customer service.

Add to that: Body pain is HORRID today. Sad

I am actually one of those rare guys who actually really DO listen, and have an interest in what someone is talking to me about. The main problem is we mostly talk online, we have only actually met in person 3 times now. each time we get together, we have a lot of fun. first time we went to star bucks, talked about disneyland, about her possibly getting a job at disney world, she showed me pics of her nieces and nephews, we talked about the classes she had taken in college, and where she was working doing lighting for the local theatres in town, etc etc etc, the next time we got together we actually went to an amusement park, we rode some rides, watched some animal shows(and no, it wasnt just the ones *I* wanted to do/see) and had a lot of fun, the last time we got together we went to the play, then after that we talked for about 45 mins just about life in general, she is a gamer, she had told me she had been playing Fable 2, so i brought that up which seemed to make her happy and she told me all about her character etc. We talked about the play, different points of view on different meanings etc, and she talked about how its different everytime she sees it because the actors emphasize different phrases or words each time and it kind of gives it new meanings(since she does the lighting she had seen it a few times before). every time we are together, we are constantly laughing, smiling and just having fun talking about any and everything. ::shrug:: i guess time will tell Smile
Psst. Hey, lady who left me a voicemail on my office phone. Don't mumble and speak up.
I can tell that you left me a message and I can even guess that you are from a publishing house, but I can't understand a blasted thing that you said. And I have listened three times since getting it on Tuesday. I can't even get your phone number because you said it so fast and it sounds like you are talking through cotton.
I overslept and forgot that I had a medical appointment this morning so I had to throw random clothes on and arrive 20 min late looking like a bag lady with my hair sticking up. It threw me because I generally do not forget stuff so that rattles my nerves and now I am in a bad, nasty mood. Add to this that my schedule is nuts because I am in the process of returning to work after 8 years of being on disability and I have truly forgotten how fast paced the world is and now I am feeling like I am not going to be able to keep up.

I am going to go and snuggle with the dog, watch a movie and try and forget that today ever happened, hopefully tomorrow will be betterBanghead

Jen
They laid off a bunch of people here yesterday. The rest of us are very unsettled and nervous.
ugh, layoffs suck!!!! at least you wernt one of the ones laid off, hopefully there are no more layoffs and you are safe!
Joe: It seems that you 2 are getting a connection. But I am happy your keeping a positive outlook. Your right! Only time will tell.
So, Goodluck Hug

CFS WOW Layoff's suck! I hope your job remains secure.

My PAM is due to my allergies that I have. I am having some problems with my throat. I feel like there is a lump in there and I can't cough it out, and it feels really weird. Maybe I should drink something hot, maybe that will help. But I hate this feeling! It won't go down and it won't come out, It just lays there like gagging my throat. UGH Banghead
CFS, I'm really sorry to hear that. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and the others who are still there.

These are such rough times. Sad

Jen M.
Sorry to hear that, CFS. I hope your position is secure.

My PAM is that my volunteer job has become a source of increasing frustration. It was never easy but it's gotten worse of late.

When I moved away they gave a portion of the work I was doing (managing the fundraising database and acknowledgements) to a staff person. It takes about 5 hours/week. This staff person is already too busy and overloaded. I tried to explain that the fundraising crap needs a dedicated person who can do nothing else, but no one listened or cared.

So here we are trying to get a FR letter out by Friday. I've been asking, no begging for the mailing list for 10 days. Do I have it yet? No. I also find out that there are no envelopes printed for the damned mailing even though I suggested that someone check on them weeks ago.

I'm 40 miles from the office so I can't deal with this stuff in person like I used to.

I LOVE this organization - they do terrific work - but I'm frustrated as hell. I feel like 1/2 of my time there is wasted. I won't quit, I'm just venting.
Cats, that's sad. A lot of these organizations seem to have this kind of problem---poor organization. It's a shame--think of how much more good work they could do if they could get their act together. Sad

I hope things work out!
I'm SO cold and SO tired. The only place I want to be is in my nice, warm bed. Not going out in the freezing rain to a doctor's appointment. Sad
