Dogsbreakfast- If you have no other water shutoffs, you can turn off the main one to the house and just turn it on when you need water. Inconvient, but at least you are not paying for water you are not using and dealing flood and errosion issues.
cassia Wrote:Can you not call the number and follow the ringing?
Also most cordless phone bases have a page function.
I could not call the # & follow the ringing cause the battery was dead.
BUT I plum forgot about the damn pager.

I feel like such an idiot.
Thanks cassia & osarkmoon for the suggestion.
I found my phone at last! It is charging as I speak.
Bittercat: I hope your breathing is better

Gingerzing: I am sorry you got loads of flood damage

But I have been in your shoes. Just make sure you wipe down the basement with bleach to reduce the bad smells.
anastasia: I am so sorry your suffering without A/C Did you get that portable unit yet? I hope so. If not, that Ice tray and fan bit works when all else fails.
MY PAM for today is my back yard neighbors.
EVERY YEAR about this time like clock work at 7PM and through out the night after that they are contantly blowing off fire crackers.
When it is cool, which it was all week. I had our windows open for Boots to enjoy and for me to have fresh air.
Not to listen to a barrage of whistles and screams of fireworks. What the kicker to this is.. It is not just from now till the 4th of July. They will blow off fireworks from tonight till AUG! TG Today it is warm,so the hosue is sealed up again.
Bu even with the windows CLOSED you can hear IT!

Calling the police is useless in this city. They will not come.
And I am just so sick of it!! I wish I could cheerfully strangle them all.
But they are not worth going to prison for.

A BIG 12 foot wooden fence that we had put up back in 2000 seperates our land from theirs. So I would have to go for a long walk to try and find their house & confront them, if I had the stones to do so.
I don't think I am that brave, Not without a dog to back me up, lol
I should be use to it by now. This mess has been going on for 5 years.
But I guess the older I got the less tolerant I have become.

Yes, it is my fault for waiting until the end of the month to renew my car tags. Sadly the vehicle did not pass inspection and needs about $300 in work before it will. Crap! Just as I finally get another good paycheck and have enough $$ to pay up the mortgage I owe, this happens. I about give up!
DH's best friend from his school days just called to break the "exciting" news that he and his wife are expecting their first kid. Oh yay. They've been married for 5 years and they've been trying for this since the day the got married. She pushed him to get married as quickly as possible because she's been consumed with baby rabies for YEARS, and now she's around 40 years old and she's preggo.
But the part of this that pisses me off? They were in "stage 2" of adopting when she got pregnant and they quit. No, they didn't have a kid all ready to go to their home, but they were very seriously involved in the whole process, which takes lots of paper work and hoops to jump through and money, etc. They were totally going to do it, and now she's preggo with their "real" kid and that's far more important that saving a homeless orphan from the system.
And of course, I had to pretend that this is just the most excellent news, all the while thinking of unwanted kids growing up in the foster system and in group homes and all the shit they have to deal with that kids shouldn't have to deal with. All because that DNA trophy is the most important thing in the world. Blah.
I no longer bother pretending glee when breeders do their birth announcements.
Buh. Me, either.
Ozarkmoon, I'm sorry to hear about your car. That's a real bummer.
TG: I'm with you: I don't like to confront strangers, because you never know whom you are dealing with (yes, bad grammar. I know) and people are nuts these days. I'm glad you found your phone, though.
My PAM: I'm not sleeping that well. I'm dreaming/getting REM sleep, but I'm not waking up rested. Boohiss!

Found out this morning that a cherished relative died of Lymphoma (Great Uncle) He had a long happy life and died peacefully but I'm going to miss him like hell anyways
Death Sucks... nuff said!
Jen, I'm so sorry!
My condolences to your family!

The other night some little bitch walking past our block was caught on my neighbor's security camera. She started with the first car on the block (mine) and went across and keyed all of my neighbor's cars.
I'm lucky in that the scratch isn't deep (and I drive a silver car so it's not as noticable) but STILL, what the fuck?
These teenagers around here have nothing else to do with their time than destroy other people's property? I bet this little shit doesn't even have a job, doesn't even know the responsibility of owning, maintaining, and paying for your own car, not the mention the pride of ownership.
A cop is supposed to come down to review my neighbor's tape but I know nothing will come of it.

Thanks Bittercat,
I have so many good memories of my Uncle! I am planning to go and play a round of mini golf with the Dh in memory of him. That is where he would take us when my Mom was needing a break from us hellions

Then we will have huge vanilla soft serve cones like he would buy us afterwards.
So many good memories of a truly wonderful person. Thanks for letting me share.
Jen (edited for spelling...I need to go to bed already!)
WE had a BBQ yesterday. It went well, but one of my friends couldn't come because her brother encouraged his kid to kiss her eventhough she had a raging cold, and of course, she got sick. Therefore, she couldn't make it to our party. I had made sure this day would work fer her and her husband so she could meet our friends. DH said don't even try this again.

Ugh! The only thing worse than screaming little shit monsters is teenagers!!! Gods how I hate, hate, HATE them! Their little vacant Beavis and Butthead brains and their little fucking entitlement attitudes. They suck beyond words. All most of them do is suck up everything around them and destroy stuff. I hated them when I *was* one.
Seriously, What the Hell?
Girl who sits next to me had a friend of hers visit over the lunch hour. Friend brought her two little girls. C is the 2 1/2 year old and actually a sweet little girl. R is the baby (8 months).
Baby R needed her diaper changed desparately. The mom had gone out to get the diaper bag since it happened from when she came in to when they sat down in the conference center (place where some people eat lunch). My co-irker told her that there was the bathroom behind us (about 2-4 feet away from their table) or if she would rather use an empty office they were around the corner about 6 feet from the table.
"Oh, there isn't baby changing table in the bathroom?"
Umm, this is an office. Not that many babies hang out here on a daily basis.
"Well, I could just change her here."
Co-irker said that she could but there were other people eating in the area that may not appriciate it. (Baby was THAT stinky)
Gal did take baby into one of the empty offices finally. And had the presence of mind to throw the dirty diaper in the bathroom's garbage. Guess which bathroom I won't be using for the rest of the day??
But REALLY who thinks that it is okay to just change in the middle of a lunch room?
Quote:But REALLY who thinks that it is okay to just change in the middle of a lunch room?
WHO? MY SIL would that's for sure. Anything for her darling grandson.
( puke) But I understand your pain gingerzing. That was so very gross of her.
TG she at least knew where to dispose the diaper.
Dogsbreakfast: I am so very sorry

to hear about the passing of your uncle. Your right death does suck! But it was very sweet of you to honor his memory in your own special way. I am so very sorry for your loss
MY PAM is tonight I have a splitting headache.
And I think I will call it a night.
Big Hugs to everyone, And I hope all your troubles end soon.

I was driving down to the store tonight after work with my mom and who do I happen to see driving the other way past my house....my ex-BF! The same one who as a condition of his probation was not allowed to come to my state except for work purposes. The last time I spoke with him, he was starting a job here the last week of June. The only thing is that he would have absolutely NO REASON to come through my town, let alone my neighborhood, to get to work.
I am pissed as hell. I don't see hide or hair or this guy for months, don't hear from him, and yet he has the balls to start driving past my house. He's probably been doing it since he started this job. It was just that tonight was the first time I actually physically saw him.
I am going to take note and see if he comes around again. And if he does get enough rope to hang himself, methinks I will be making a call to his probation officer and letting her know what has been going on. I have no idea what he is up to. My guess would be to aggravate me for some reason or stir up trouble. But I'm not playing games anymore.
WaterLily:
Document. Document document.
Dates, times witnesses, photos.
Waterlily, I wouldn't wait. I'd tell the probation officer now. If he's not allowed to be in your state, how did he get a job there? Uh-uh!
Jen M.
Yeah, I'd spill at once. Call the probation officer!
Grrr! My company is great, but they have a way of making certain processes a pain in the ass! All i want to do is order some envelopes for our project, and there's all this back-and-forth, "this is right/this is wrong", "we need approval", blahblahblah! It's just fucking envelopes, people!
jen M.
That's the hitch...he is allowed to come here, but only for work purposes. The probation board granted him permission to work here, but that's it. That means he has to go to work and come home...no little side trips *ahem*, like driving past my house. Trust me...if I knew he wasn't allowed to come here AT ALL, I would have been calling them immediately.
I documented last night's incident, the time, and who was with me (my mom). My ex probably feels really cocky right now because he can come here, but as soon as I, my family, or one of my friends catches him again, I'm calling the probabation board. He saw me last night and I'm sure he knows I saw him and if he's smart, he'll stay the hell away. The only problem is that he has a tremendous ego and probably thinks I'm still in love with him. Little does he know...
