Did you get or give anything particularly exciting or sweet or just plain awesome this year? Do tell!
My dad gave me a TomTom One GPS for my car which I am so excited about. I've used a GPS on road trips before and they are so damn useful. I can also download Mr.T or John Cleese to be the voice that guides me!
I got $350 worth of cash and VERY useful gift certificates! YAY! Plus assorted DVDs. This must be the first time anyone paid attention to my Amazon wish list, because I ended up with two copies of "Cool Hand Luke". I'm not complaining!
DH gave me a Nikon D-300 the day before he left a few weeks ago. Sweet.
I got a 22" monitor
Now I'm running dual screens with my sort of newish 19" next to it (it was a replacement for a POS that died under warranty, the company gave me their newest model last year)
I'm becoming a nerd... but it's awesome!
DH took me to see Cats last night. That was sweet! I got him a new iPod. What he doesn't know yet (because I backordered it) is that he's also getting a USB turntable with an iPod docking station so he can directly transfer his albums to his new iPod.
This Year I splurged and sent my girlfriends some very expensive gifts.
One GF I sent her a leather wallet with a wolf engraved on the front.
( she LOVES wolves)
The other 2 GF I sent statues of angels. ( and not cheap ones either, lol) Both GF's love angles, lol. So, All 3 of my GF's loved their gifts.
I gave my hubby $100 cash which he was not expecting at all.
And some Comedy CD's from Cheech & Chong which he loves.
So everyone was happy with what I gave & of course they all THANKED me Profusely.
I got about $250 in cash and Gift Cards.
But the best gift I got was from my husband.
(see Pix) Its a pearl ring with tiny diamonds around the unique yellow gold band.
Everyone I know has seen it and loves it too.
And yesterday I got to show it to my BIL's GF and of course she was green, lol
All in all I had a good holiday season.
And I was able to stay away from FOOD!! That was my best gift to me from myself of all time.

His girlfriend gave me some jewelry and a beautiful antique Japanese kimono.
DH gave me a gift certificate for a massage.
I got a GPS!! Woohoo! Garmin - really great one - tells us traffic and everything. Loving it!
i have a rather large family so generally dont get anything too extravagent. i got a couple shirts, a 40 dollar gift card, and a coin bank. The best present is what i got for myself a few weeks ago. My Gibson SG is just awesome. ive been practicing with it and i just love it. Dont get me wrong, i love my strat still too, but this gibson is just really really nice(paid 600 for it, its a 1600 dollar guitar, plus the practice amp which is 150, and a distortion pedal that is another 50 bucks, everything for 600 wasnt too bad!!!). At work, my co-workers got me some pretty cool gifts, my 2 bosses went in together and got me $100 gift card to Guitar Center! WHOOT! and my other co-worker got me an in-door sky diving gift certificate!!!! go co-worker!!!
With the money I got as gifts plus my Xmas bonus at work, I am going to buy myself a flute. I played a little bit in high school and wanted to get back into it.
that is awesome WL. i am sometimes tempted to go and buy a trumpet since i played that in school and loved it, but right now im focused on guitar. anything music related though to me is a GREAT buy!

I got the bestest present today! -- the great-nieces/nephews loved the gifts we gave them (no, really, not polite thanks, but "oh wow! It's just what I wanted! Thanks!"), and my SIL was in raptures over the goodie bag we assembled for her gift. As much as I love receiving gifts, I love even more when my choices are a hit with the gift-recipient!
I know I'm going to forget something so don't get mad...
I got chocolate chip cookies, cashews, $200 cash, a $10 gift certificate to Amazon, an Egyptian theme game with mirrors and lasers, small Egyptian figurines, and chocolate coins. Not a bad haul considering I didn't really get anyone anything. I also got my first unemployment checks which doesn't hurt.
I was reminded that I have the nicest friends ever. One of them came over to my place and we watched the 'Sex and the City' movie after Christmas dinner. Speaking of the dinner... I was on the national news! CTV, and apparently my aunt was screaming and everyone was running to see me... I don't much like the idea of being on TV but considering the circumstances it was cool. Essentially I was serving dinner to others and they happened to have me in the background of the shot.
For presents I received some good food and knitting wool, and apparently there are a few more in the mail. Mostly I'm just happy with all the holiday greetings that I was sent, and the biggest present of all is next week's vacation
DH bought me Aperture2 for the MacBook. I also got some nice flannel jammies, a couple of bottles of wine and other assorted booze.
With my bonus from work I bought myself the Nikon D60 Kit which comes with two lenses. I bought it on line and saved $250. It should arrive in about a week.
An anonymous online acquaintance on another community (though I have ideas who it may be) got me a hot pink
Ms. Maxxdaddy Monster folding camp chair. First time I ever felt petite in a chair!
The general ether gave me a great friend with option for benefits, he sits next to me at work.

With My leftover holiday $ I was able to buy some new calandars
for the house.
This year, I got what I wanted as opposed to someone else giving me one that I do not like, lol
I got me a BEAR one and a real cute Kitten one.
And since they were on sale, it was like BOGO free.
Thats a deal too good not to pass up.
