I hope the wall street fat cats aren't getting bonuses this year. Boo-hoo - NOT. The last place I worked was loaded with those folks on the BOD. Don't miss them and won't feel bad if they lose their bonuses.
I won a performance award this year in September, but that's not something that happens to most people so I answered No. I work for the government so I normally don't get anything special for the holidays.

This year I *was* supposed to get a present from Santa (through work) but apparently we've been naughty because, of all things, the gifts are stuck in PAKISTAN! Who would have thought? I should get it soon enough though, and I have heard rumours that it is a tooth-brush so I'm in no rush to receive it Smile
No, unless count my 8 hour shift I will work on X-Mess day...I could get double time but will elect for a day off instead.

They probably are. I heard on the news last month that a lot of the firms were squirreling money away for bonuses. But then again, they don't do bonuses until March.

I got $300 for my bonus. I routinely get $30 each month for a performance bonus. They also had to do the figuring for taxes on a $10 Kroger card I won for an attendance raffle.

I just did the math... last year, it was $25/month of employment for those who were permanent and $300 for a signing bonus for the temps. Now that I'm permanent, I expected more than $300, but it must have been only $20/month of employment this year. But, a bonus is a bonus. I won't fight it.

However, in the past few days I have discovered the bonus of a co-worker who is as warped as I am. We're in the negotiating stages of becoming friends with benefits.
Got mine today - $1,200. Not as much as I was expecting but it's better than a kick in the ass.

Now I can buy that new camera I've had my eye on, not have to touch my savings, and have enough left over to add to my savings.

Yay!
dang, 1200 bucks!!! grats!!! id of been happy with ANYTHING, we are all still rather bitter at work over how the board of directors has treated us and i am thinking at the next negotiations, if they dont give some, there might be a strike, and that would be BAAAAAAD for business because our credit union membership is all union works, so they wouldnt be able to cross the picket line, not to mention the fact that they love us to death and would be pissed if they heard that we were being treated badly(guess i should mention that the board of directors is made up of members from the union that we support! rofl, so even the board of directors couldnt cross the picket line to help run the credit union without getting in trouble with their union, hahaha)
I really wasn't expecting a Christmas bonus. I got a card last week during a Christmas lunch at a restaurant. It was written that I would receive a 500$ bonus with my next pay. I went back to work with a huge smile on my face that day.
Well, I remembered that two of the many, many jobs I've had had bonuses. One job was for a mom and pop health food store and the bonus was related to taxes or some sort. It was a percentage of our salary or something like that, I forget how it did it, but considering I made $6.75 and worked 30-40 hours a week with no benefits it was a pittance. It was greatly appreciated of course.

The company I worked for prior to this current job, the one where I was working 60+ hours a week and getting screwed... they gave everyone something like $50 or $100 to Target. It didn't matter how long you'd been there either, I"m sure the managers got big bonuses, but I was a peon. Even so, it DID help.

I can't imagine a $500 bonus, or a $1200 one. DH has had a few ranging from $50 - $250. He always (and still) gets told he'll get a big bonus, a chunk of profits blah de blah blah... but nothing. Oh well. Don't expect anything and then you're surprised if you get something. Right?
rofl, ok, so we were told no bonuses for anything...well, come to find out, the board of directors decided to give the CEO a bonus......

WTF, why do they think the HIGHEST paid employee needs MORE money? the CEO makes more than double what any of the other staff makes, why should she get a bonus? it was like a 500 dollar bonus. HELLO that could of been split between us 3 employees and we would of been THRILLED.

Heard my dad got a bonus, he was disappointed, last year he got 2k, and now he is higher up and was thinking he was gonna get 3 - 4k, but they cut back and he only got 1250...ONLY, rofl. ah well, such is life.
Yeah... that would happen where I work too arkved. Our director (CEO equivalent) got an almost 1 MILLION dollar bonus from the board. Granted, he enacted some major changes which turned out to be great, but they didn't net 1 million, so guess where that money came from? Yeah.... salaries be damned. At the time some of the assistants with MA degrees (a requirement) were making 27k a year too. W T F indeed.
that is terrible Kirby, just terrible....and then they wonder why their companies fail?
I love how the executives who caused a 700 billion dollar bailout with TAXPAYER money immediately gave themselves bonuses for their hard work.
